There's a nice, recent interview with Sara in a Nickel Creek promotion at www.musicmatch.com/home/ (then click on get music at the top right hand side of the page to bring up the page with the NC feature on it.)

MM: What would you call it?
SW: Progressive acoustic. That's the only consistent thing. I don't know that there's any youthgrass in Brand New Sidewalk. Everyone does an unplugged album, maybe we'll do a Plugged album and we'll pretend that we're this big rock band with huge stacked amps and electric instruments and scream and wail and twirl microphone stands. We'll do that for a year to get it out of our system.
Would Chris even need to change his hair?

i must confess something: my old mosh mode set in when i saw them at the tabernacle in november. when they did parts of songs by nirvana, weezer or radiohead, what do you expect? i was on the front row with my nose to the stage, and i started jumping. then i made myself stop.

while i wasn't raised on those covers they do..it does make me wanna do something..i had the same feeling marie, except i was seated in the section up top where it would be frowned upon (but it didnt keep me from yelling though..over ..and over.). i don't think that rockin' out or whatever you wanna call it doesn't hurt them. i love the high energy at their shows..but on the other side of the balance is their paralyzingly tranquil and beautiful stuff. so..you got your cake and can eat it too..
and don't gimme that new year's resolution junk against the cake...its been in that fridge for a month now!
oh sorry..i keep forgetting i have the signature automatically on...yeah..just figured that out today..lol
