Well, it sucked.
As for THIS year...I'm tired of this entire country feeling sorry for itself. Can there be another TV special expressing how much of a victim we are??? National holiday?!? Take work off?!? And give those #$%^&* exactly what they want??? I don't think so!!! [bang]

I am going to have to go with NCFreak with this one... to much going on because of it. Don't get me wrong, I know it was very tragic, it is just depressing and sickning to see all the crap going on because of it... not to mention all the people trying to profit off of the tragidy with picture books and crap they are selling to remember. Its all greed for profit:mad:

however it can be exhaustively annoying to only see everything on tv is about 9/11....it is being over done...as far as all stations wanting to put something up about it..all memorial services...i mean it is in no way meant as disrepect to what happen...but we have had our memorial services....and our dues given...some continue to grieve but that is alright....but as a nation we need to move on to fixing the problems we have..some of which would lead to preventing other occurences of what happened....i do think though that most of america has b/c callouse to it...part due to the constant media exposure...part just to the time and human nature.. yes we are going about our lives but we also don't care anymore...i mean..our national resolve to get the guys who did this..seems to be missing....remember that president bush...said it will be a long war...i just think most of america, fueled by the majorly anti-whitehouse main media outlets (abc, nbc, cbs) don't care anymore about accomplishing what we set out to do..or ateast to put up what it requires... also..i just remember that i was in argentina when all of this happened last year..and i wasn't able to see all the speech's by the president and news there was scarce and undependible...so i am part thankful for the great media network we have..but it can be over done...

i have to agree with you all
i mean, this kinda thing happens all the time in Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Afghanastan, etc....it happened, its over, done, nothin is gained from feeling sorry for yourself, and this is no different
it was scary tho, since i live in NY, and some of my friends had cousins and family in those planes and in the building
how did you all find out about it? (who told you, when, where, etc....just curious  )

I was walking between second and third period at my high school when someone told me. Honestly I thought they were joking until I walked into my Language Arts class and my teacher had the TV on. The first plane had hit 15 minutes before. Unfortunatly I saw the second plane hit live and the first tape of the pentagon plane. There is a two star general at my church who's secretary and a few other coworkers were killed. the plane completely demolished/incinerated his office. Thankfully he was in a meeting away from his office. I was completely shocked when it happened and a few people at my school were absolute jerks about the situation and kept saying the dumbest things. However, most kids felt grevouis right away. A couple kids in my class said if they were old enough they'd enlist right then. All in all it was a very moving experience that i'll never forget.

My theory has always been that those kind of people are just afraid to admit there own feelings about a certain situation. So, they make themselves feel better by being jerks. My best friend is like that. Makes me wanna smack him sometimes.

I can plainly see that none of you people lost a loved one to this terrible tragedy,by the way you are talking so callously.Yes it is over and done with for you,but for people like me who lost my husband and child it will never be over.Yes it is very sad to watch but they are honoring the people who were just innocents. So please don't say it is over and done with because for people like me it will be there every hour of everyday.Sorry you obviously couldn't do without t.v. for a day but let me tell you something I do not need the t.v. to remind me of the tragedy I live with it every day.It was supposed to be just another day and it was for you but that day has changed my life forever. Please be a little more curteous when speaking of 9-11 you never know who might be reading this.[sob] [sob]

Dang i said the same thing the majority of the thread said and got jumped all over. I understand for the people who have actually lost people in that dumb act. But for them to repeat the scene has to be difficult for the remaining loved ones. Those people have all the right to mourn but they lose its effect when it becomes a public thing. The nation HAS to get over its self.
my 2 cents

Well, my comments were not directed towards people like yourself...the REAL victims. I can only hope that your spirits can heal with time. I am truly sorry for your loss.
I was referring to the milliions of other Americans that experienced the attack from home, watching TV. By now, we as Americans she be pounding our fists in anger, doing all we can to kill those #$%^& that attacked us...not sitting at home crying and watching TV specials. On December 7, 1942, we weren't having a bunch of ceromonies on the 1st anniversary of Pearl Harbor. We were too busy killin' people, gettin' our revenge on!!

my comments also were not directed to the viticms nor their families. i can't speak for them but i would personally think that hearing about it everyday on tv or seeing specials about on tv might hurt some ppl to keep having to replay it over and over. as i also heard testimonies of others say though that by talking about it, it helps them. i have no problem with that. i agree largely that we are callouse to it. i think the media overkill has had a part to do with that. i don't ever want to forget what happen that day, but nor do i want to have to be stuck living in that moment. i meant not to offend anyone by my statements but plz just disregard me as someone who doesn't know what he is talking about...look at my other posts...i don't have clue there either....
meant in the deepest heart-felt sypmathy,

my deepest sympathies, i didnt mean to offend you, you are an actual victim and it hurt you harder than alotta other people in this nation. but i did lose someone, tho not as close to me as ur husband to you and your child. in fact, i hardly knew him.
my whole overlook:
the nation itself must STOP FEELING BAD FOR ITSLEF and worry more about honoring the victims and the families themselves, not the damage done to the towers and pentagon, but the damage done to our hearts, and continue strong without a memorial service everyday. EVERYDAY WAS MEMORIAL DAY SINCE SEPTEMBER 11, and we do not need to be told PUBLICLY that we are sorry about it, we feel it anyway...
long, i know, but so was this year....[think]
