Hey there- So nice to see all these NC fans. I looove them! and so does my boyfriend he actually introduced me to Nickel Creek....anyway. DOes anyone have their very first CD it isn't under the same record label, it's from when they were young like 14 or so, and I think it is called Here to There. I asked Sara after the concert in Seattle and she said only like their grandparents have copies now...I want one soooooooo bad, if anyone knows how I might get one, or where I might find one, please let me know. Thanks soooo much!

Well, actually, that's their *second* CD.
Their first CD, called Little Cowpoke, was recorded when they were something like 12, 12, and 16... Sean is taller than Chris!
Here to There is out of print, and since it was a self-release by the band, not many were made in the first place, so it is very, very difficult to find on the used market. (I know several people that have been looking for over a year.)
The band is not happy with the quality of the disc (though some of us who have it would beg to differ), so it seems unlikely that they will re-release it... all I can suggest at this point is to keep an eye out at used CD stores and maybe put requests in at a couple stores to be on the lookout if a copy ever shows up... that and check Ebay, where you'll probably pay $50-75 for it on the rare occasions where it shows up.

There is a compilation CD currently available from flatpick.com, the website for Flatpicking Guitar Magazine, that contains one song from Here to There. It is called Flatpicking '98 and has the instrumental Cross the Bridge, which I think it pretty good if you like their instrumentals on their debut CD.

Cross The Bridge is one of the best cuts on Here To There. And honestly, I think Here To There is a fine disc overall. There are a heck of a lot of bands that would kill for a debut album as good (though technically, of course, Little Cowpoke was the debut).

I've heard parts of Here to There and I'd have to say that Cross the Bridge and Narrow Way are the two that I like the best.
