Ok people I need some help. I am closing in on 18 and need to get my Eagle project done. For those of you who dont know what that is, its a project that I have to do in order to get my highest rank in Boyscouts. The project has to benefit the community. Other people have done things such as puting in a handicap ramp at a restaurant or clearing tralis at local forests. I think that is all boring projects. I need something that is big like something that will get national attention. Any ideas?

Yah Yah Yah thats right I am a boyscout Ha Ha Ha very funny. Now really what can I do to help on a national level? I need Ideas!!!!!!

You're only (almost) 18? I figured you were older than that...like Chris' age.

Although I know this is a serious question, I couldn't help but laugh my butt off. You're sense of humor just flows so naturally.

Anyway, what can Bart do to get national attention and finally become an Eagle Scout? Hmm....

Dang-it!! It's past 11 and I have to go home. Besides that, I have to urinate. I'll get back to ya...

Save the Ducks...it sounds stupid, I know, but hey its a wildlife thingy and well...depending on where you live..up here we have the blue hills so there are a lot of ducks and stuff like that...but ah..well you could do something about animals..like in Fly Away Home...but those were geese...where's goose???

o oo oo ok, when I was in fifth grade, I came up with this idea, to do stuff for old people in nursing homes, like entertain them and stuff, I thought I was sooo cool, and then I found out that they already do stuff like that, but you could do something like that if you can't find a duck...

So I am curious why it needs to gain national attention? Taking on a project of that size does not sound like it would be a mangable task. If you are serious about getting your Eagle, I would reccommend do something for your local community. It is where you live and should be taken care of. I did a blood drive for my service project. It is a great project because once everthing is started you just make sure that everything is running smoothly. If you are still interested in making it into a national project , maybe you can tie it in with 9/11, and send the donations to somewhere else. You can contact you local Red Cross, and they will set everything up for you, and also give you all of the posters and other advertising materials. The most important thing is to find a project that you enjoy doing and one that you will follow through with, and that is why I recommend staying local. Well good luck.

i saw my named mentioned...yeah you could do they wildlife thing...but..it has been done before...do something different..while i'm going to say this..know that i am kidding...
k, so you need to help your community and gain national attn...well..find something that you think would help your community..say pollution is a problem...and then get national attention...commit a crime...lol...as in find out who is doing the polluting and take their trash back to them...yeah i know that i shouldn't encourage crime...it was a joke...

you could find a way maybe to tie it in w/alisson or nc..like exposing ppl in your community...maybel like the older ppl who usually appreciate bluegrass and the like...w/that music...like i think you play an instrument right? put on a show for the elderly of music for them...stuff that they might know...

here is one (stupid but funny to me)...you could complain that by only allowing girl scouts to sell cookies..it is sexist to girls and to guys (b/c you might want to sell cookies too..who knows..they are good) and it can help your community by providing more opportunities to buy those yummy cookies..it increases competition in your local economy...(boys scouts vs. girl scouts..but becareful..SOME girls can be mean) and you break down an old and out-dated tradition from years past which doesn't belong in our 21st century of equality...it could be considered sexist to girls..since it is food..implying that girls belong in an early 20th century role of making and providing the food at home...or that it gives the idea that girls and cookies...go hand in hand...us a society that encourage junk food leading to the demoralization of our national health....yeah...that idea sucks...sorry...goes to show how much my environmental math class, anthropology, and political science classes are messing w/me...and being hungry for girl scout cookies at the same time...it gets to you..hehe

i'll try to think of better ideas...

Why? Because it's Bart...THAT'S why. [lolol]

Basically, no matter WHAT you do, just call every TV news channel and newspaper that you can, then ask them to cover the event.

Hi, my name is Dan and I'm weaving baskets for the homeless. Can you send a team out to cover it? Thanks!!

NcFreak that is hiarious! I cant stop laughing. Homeless people and baskets.Lol. I found out what I can do to get my eagle project and help out bluegrass at the same time. In Nashville there is a local bluegrass bar . Maybe I can get some funds and get some contractors in there to make it look new. Wouldnet that be great local boy scout fixed up bar. Just kidding. Wouldent that be funny though?

I GOT IT!!

Build your own hotdog cart, fill it up w/ dogs, then...start walking. The further you walk across the country, the more press you get. Still, for the press to be interested, you need some kind of social benefit attached to it. Hmm...

Hot Dogs for the Homeless? Nah...too cliche.

Hot Dogs for Nickel Creek? Hmm...promising. Spreading the music of Nickel Creek one dog at a time. Ya know...this may get you on Letterman. Just hook up a car stereo to a 12 volt battery. Go to major cities selling hot dogs while playing NC. It'll pay for itself.

LMAO.
These are some crazy ideas.Whooo.
I like the one about speding the word of Nickel Creek one dog at a time.
But seriously, that bar idea actually sounds pretty good. You say it's a bluegrass bar? Why not get a bunch of bluegrass bands together and ask the bar owner to close the sale of alcohol for one night so that you could put on a benefit concert at the bar. It will gain popularity for the bar and raise money to get it fixed, as well as help out the bluegrass scene in the area. If the owner won't close alcohol sales for the evening, dicuss plans to hold the concert out front to attract more people.
Just an idea.
