Chris' Last Name

Hello all

Hope this hasn't been asked before but I searched the old post for like half an hour and didn't find a thing so here goes my fun odd question.[think har

When I saw Nickel Creek live about a month ago Sara said Chris' last name at one point and it sounded different than how I normally say it or have heard it. She said Thil-E like frilly. I have always thought it was just Thile like thrill. Now have I been saying and hearing it wrong forever, and really it is Thil-E or was Thil-E just like a joking nickname and it is Thile? This has been driveing my nuts for a while now, and I would love, love, love it if someone would please clear this up. Thank you so much, and I hope I didn't confuse you to much.

i am glad someone finally asked this...for one..i'm too lazy to search and i always thought his name was pronounced like tile from a floor..just w/an h tile..thile...but now..i'm looking real dumb (as always though) trying to pronouce all these words while at my computer...having to explain to my parents that no, it isn't an online foriegn language coures....

Hmmm, I don't think that's any worse that saying it wrong LOL, at least you had it right! I had it in my head as Tile for the longest time... thank goodness I never talked to anyone who knew different, I would have felt rather silly. ;) It was a happy mystery solved for me :D
