Sugar Hill records is trying to promote the new Nickel Creek CD in a variety of ways. One promotion is a new radio show that they produced in the hopes that stations would be willing to run a one hour special on Nickel Creek.
It's kind of a funny interview - it sounds to me like the host of the show (Rusty Miller, Nashville-based Americana DJ) wasn't really the person who did the interview - they just pasted his questions in later. But it's actually quite an interesting interview.
Here's part one of the show:

I don't think this will be here long, so enjoy it while you can.

Not much response to this, but I assume that a few people listened. In any event, here's part 2:

It's a sizeable download (for those using dial-up anyway), but it's worth it.

Have to say I liked part one.. a little corny considering most of our knowledge of the band but still interesting :) I would like to hear more!

Maybe you need to read the thread more carefully?
Part 2 is listenable right now, hopefully part 3 will be along tomorrow.

I'm glad you're enjoying them. If all goes well, I'll be able to provide pointers to the remaining parts on Saturday and Sunday.

Hey Jimmie how come the links form section 1,2 and 3 dont work anymore?
Jimmie

Because only one section at a time is available at the server.

The thing I like best about these are that if a person didn't have the cd yet (geex they would be soooo behind the times), They could listen to this and get to hear every single song off of the cd and also hear the explainations for each song.
That is so cool.

Thanks for posting these. I was able to listen to the last two. It's been several months since I've heard NC interviewed. Chris' and Shawn's voices were higher than I remembered and Sara's was lower. They sound so young! Makes me even more amazed at what they can turn out on their songs. So talented!

I just love listening to Sara yodel at 11 or 12 years old. It's wonderful!

And finally, here are parts 2 through 5, slightly edited and all rolled into one segment:

Is there any way someone could type some excerpts from the first one?
(a full transcription would be cool too ;) :D )
I assume it's all the *stars* talking about Nickel Creek's talent....but thus far I've managed to miss it both times it's been up. I assume I just get home too late, and by the time I do, they've already 'expired' it to move onto the next day's track.
Bryan graciously sent me the first one, but the file seems to be corrupt and I can't listen to it.
Thanks in advance.
