Can someone enlighten me on what the song Spit on a Stranger is about? I mean really, is that Nickel Creeks style to spit on strangers? I think not, so what does it meeeeaaaaannnn?!?!?! [bang]

Spit isn't an original song by NC - they covered it from Pavement, this (obscure) alt-rock band. As a matter of fact, on Pavement's site, there's a MP3 to listen to. As for the origins, I don't know what all started it, but my guess is that whoever the subject is couldn't get this girl to like him, and now he's in this situation (hence, 'pull me out') and he's so frustrated, he could spit on someone. [splat]

Ah, pavement. OK...for those that have never heard them...as most people haven't...they are known for obscure lyrics. VERY obscure lyrics. In fact, the reason that Chris picked this song was because of all the pavement he had been listening to...it made the most sense! :D

I think maybe it's his reference to her - you're a bitter stranger - someone I don't know like I used to, and since most of the revolves around ...you're a catch and we're a perfect match.... I dunno, just my (now) four cents all total.
