i have no idea i wish i could help. i know my mandolin is tuned to chris' because i have his video and tuned it to the video and then i can play along with most of his songs on his first 2 solo cds if i'm in the right tuning.

All tuning is standard. Sean usually plays with a capo on frets 2 and 4. Put the capo on fret 1 to play Reasons Why.

auctually sean does retune his guitar for a few of their songs- i will have to check for sure before i know which ones. [if you listen to a live cd of theirs, you can hear it softly, andif you have good pitch or perfect pitch, it is pretty easy to figure out his tuning. i will try o figure that out- unless some pon ebeats me to that- feel free.

actually Sweet Afton is standard with the following chords:
E, B, A, C#m, G#m, and F#m.
Out of the woods is drop D tuning.

Out of the woods, really holds special meaning for my wife, lol.. As she thought after Deer season I would be back home.. Off for Turkey and Hogs now, at least she joins me during the warm months...

Does anyone know what kind of amps Sean is using.

Most songs are standard!!!!
The only reason I know they are tuned different for some songs is because I asked them when they were here in Oklahoma.

Out of the Woods is tuned to DADGAD.
Sweet Afton is tuned the same way but capoed 2nd fret so it sounds like it is in E, but it isn't.

Try messing around with that new tuning and it will sound perfect. For Out of the Woods you will only be playing on the first 4 strings so it is really easy. With it tuned like this the solos are easy to play as well. This is a fun tuninng to play with.

For the D chord you will only hold down the 4th string on the 2nd fret and that is your D chord. G will be top 3 strings held down at the 5th fret and the 4th string held down at the 4th fret. A will be ther same only slide up to frets. The Bminor will be the same only slide up 2 frets and move your 4th string finger down a fret. B minor will be top 3 strings held down at the 9th fret and the 4th string held at the 7th fret.

Hope this helps. Let me know if it did!!!!!

I think for Let it fall sean goes from EADGBE to EAEG#BE. That is the best I could come up with. It is really tough to play in regular tuning but much easier in the other tuning. If anyone knows differently let me know.
