Hello, Has anybody heard if Nickel Creek will be coming back to the Indianapolis area this year?? I got to see them last year at the Egyptian Room of the Murat and it was amazing, but there's no sign of them coming back yet this year.... does anyone know something that I don't?? -- Sunni

they will swing by here eventually.... pretty sure it is considered one of the major market cities for them and all of those are getting hit sometime in the future....

Speaking of Indy...
I was at the USGP this weekend (I'm a Yellow Shirt). I know...just listen. I was wearing my NC shirt on Saturday. When I went to get an Indy Dog at the consession stand (NO, this is NOT another hotdog post), the guy that handed me my dog saw my shirt and said, You like Nickel Creek?
Awe...hell ya!! I responded.
Yeah, they're real good, hotdog man replied.
I've got a picture of me and Sara Watkins....blah, blah, blah...
Point is, NC has the ability to make a connection between people that would otherwise have nothing in common w/ each other at all. Maybe it's that they're still kinda small, our own private band....so we all feel more of a connection than do Beatles fans or something. Still, I thought it was still really cool.

I hope they hit the Indiana area soon. We were lucky enough to see the 3 Indiana shows last year. Can't wait to see them again!!

I wonder why that is that the Murat is always getting good acts lately? I have not seen anything at Clowes, but heard it is a nice place. It must be fun to work there. I know they are getting big, but one place I hope NC will never play, is Conseco. I saw a concert there last week, and everyone is right, it has the worst acoustics I've ever heard. It definitely wasn't set up for concerts as well as games. The artist could tell it was horrible. When they started each song, they would back away from the microphone with a funny look on their face. The band would just shrug. You couldn't understand a word that was said between songs. You could tell someone was talking, but you could only here an echo. This would be a horrible place for NC to play. But, then again, I will feel lucky to see them anywhere in the IN area.

consico was modeled after hinckle field house [where hoosiers was filmed] whcih is know to be a sound nightmare.. so of corse- it has horrid sound...
clowes is designed as a performace hall- and has over all better seats than the murat- though there are a few theaters that heave better sound then it in the area-
you should have come to beethoven's 9th this last sunday- it was packed, and fun to play!

I grew up going to bluegrass concerts, sitting on a hill, sometimes getting up and dancing, singing along, laying on a blanket sipping a coke.....
Would be great to hear them at Deer Creek! Although an indoor place would be great, I think something like Deer Creek or a bluegrass festival would be awesome! Of course like all of you, if they came to Indiana, I would go regardless of the venue.
Hope they come here soon!
Would also like to meet all of you there!

Jenn, I agree, Deer Creek would be a great place to see them play. I always love outdoor shows/festivals.
Matt did you play in the symphony? You'll have to forgive me, I don't get to read often enough to catch all the info. That would have been great to hear. We don't get down to Indy that often, but we have been wanting to see the symphony. We almost went last year, but family illness cancelled those plans.
