Hi,
I live in London and am going to see NC tonight at Union Chapel. I totally agree with the fact that Sean is yummy! He's definately the better of the two guys! I think he's very talented. My friend is sitting with me at college at the mo, and she's never seen them before, and even she agrees that he's good looking.

Hi there!
I was on the left hand side as you came in from the back, about 6 rows from the front, I still can't believe how close they were. When they invited us to sit around them at the end, I was right at Sean's feet! What a great venue.
Were you there too, where were you sitting? Did you manage to meet them afterwards?
I was beginning to think I was the only person based in England on this forum!

I am so jelous of you guys! I wish I could see NC in England-that would be like heaven (not really but it'd be cool). I used to live in England and I miss it terribly!

Arf, i was six rows from the front in the middle ;) with a whole group of NC fans and a couple of noobies to the whole scene (who i'm glad we converted).
We defected to Sara's side at her feet :E (i was the freaky one with the beard and bandana). I'm still grinning thinking about the show now ;)
Alas we had to leave without speaking to them, but the other half of the group met them and talked to them (grumble).
I'm dying for a copy of that show. The Fox outro was just too cool. (/me falls into american superlatives).
I shall shuffle off and watch the videos i have again :E

Wait a minute, I actually think I remember seeing you. I've a feeling you were behind me in the que waiting to go in, the beard and bandana thing caused me to remember; but I guess you may not have been the only one there that night who looked like that. Were you with two other friends? Glad you successfully converted the people around you.
I was lucky enough to meet them and they were all lovely. I'm pretty much the same as you so far as still grinning goes, it was excellent. Unfortunately only one of my friends is into them, and the convertion thing isn't going too well with the others.
I went on the left because I knew that was where Sean would be! I'm currently on a hunt for his album 'Let it Fall', but can't find it anywhere. I'm going to London tomorrow to see if I can find it in one of the larger HMV or Virgin stores (fingers crossed). If you find it let me know please, or if you find any merchandise (I'm still a little uneasy about putting credit card details on the net).

hello elizabeth
if you can't find it on the shelves at either of those places ask them to order it for you. they can do that and keep it for you, or post it out to you (i think). definitely worth asking.

Uglyflubb - No, sorry that wasn't me. If you are the person I'm thinking of, I was the person in front of you in the que, I was saying I was cold quite a lot and talking to another guy in front of me. There was a guy behind me who sounds kinda like you, I remember him becuase of the beard/bandana thingy, and you didn't really look like the country/bluegrass type (no offence intended). But perhaps I'm thinking of someone else.
I noticed on another post you contemplated following NC up to Sheffield the following day, and I must admit, I did too. If they come back next year and play London and other slightly closer to home venues, I think I will have to go to more than one gig.
Headgear - Thanks for the suggestion of ordering Sean's album. But I was in London today and went in every music store between Picadilly and Tottenham Court Road and finally, after much enquiring I found it - HOORAH!!! And as I type this message to you, I have it blasting out of my computer speakers! I love it, and it was well worth the large amount of walking I did today!
Any news on when his next album is due to be released?!

i think the walk probably makes it sound even sweeter! glad you got it - it's a fine album. sean actually said at the sheffield gig that his next one is due out early next year.

It is a very fine album, I love 'Let it Fall' (I thought Sean sang it excellently last week) and 'Nostalgic'. But I love the whole album, they're just two I like in particular. When I asked in HMV about it the guy said he was actually at their gig in London. I eventually tracked it down in Virgin. I've only just started playing guitar (due to Sean's influence), and I know it's going to take a while, but I can't wait to be able to play some of their stuff! I also can't wait for his new album - a whole 9 vocal tracks!!!
Unfortunately I didn't get a copy of the gig, I wish I had though!
I will definately be watching Jools Holland tonight, I'll probably tape their bit.
Uglyflubb - On a previous post, within this thread, you mentioned that you were going off to watch your videos of them again, were they found on the net, on an album etc???

[bang] forgot [bang] to [bang] tape [bang] Jools [bang] Holland.[sob]
Elizabeth: There are ways of downloading vids off the net. I've managed to snag the Rolling stones ones and some off some other place i've forgotten
If you have a decent connection I can drop you the details of how to do it (you will have to be fairly computer literate) or otherwise if anyone is interested <pimp> then i'm happy to whack a cd in the post for them if they want it </pimp> [party]

Thanks for the info about where to obtain the vids of NC, I just had a look and they're good!
Sorry to hear you forgot to tape Jools Holland. I remembered, they were good, but it wasn't quite the same as having them right in front of you like the other week. Is it just me, or are you still on a high from that too?!
Don't suppose you know where I could get hold of a copy of Acoustic Guitar mag, coz NC are in the December issue?

Hm, I grin inanely everytime I think about that concert and Winamp is groaning under the load of playing them all day
Hm I'll keep a lookout for Acoustic guitar then, I would have thought WHSmiths would have it.[think har

elizabeth - try Borders too if Smiths don't have it.
flubb - i've got it on tape if you want to borrow it and don't mind trawling through friends, will and grace and graham norton first. pm me if you want a lend.

Hey,
I recorded the Jools Holland show on my computer (thanks to my trusty ATI all-in-wonder tv card). Now, I could cut out the NC bit for you and mail it, but I think it might be a bit large.
BTW, I just stumbled onto this discussion about NC in London. I was there too, coming all the way from Holland. I sat left-center, 5th row or something.
When I talked to Chris afterwards, there were some people from Germany as well! And I thought I was the only one mad enough to go see a concert in another country...

Headgear - Thanks for the suggestion of Borders, but I've ordered it in from Smiths, I was surprised they didn't have it too.
BIG NEWS - I've started a new thread for all to read, but thought I'd tell you guys in person. Wait for it...NC are back in England in Janurary!!!
I read a review of their London gig and it said that they liked the UK so much that they are coming back in January for a more extensive tour! I hope they play really small cool venues again. I'm hoping to get to more than one gig. No dates as yet though.
Listening to 'Young' at the mo, this tune rocks!
CMA Awards are to be aired on BBC 2 on Saturday if your interested, let's hope NC get at least one of the awards they're up for!
