Is there a way to change which direction the threads are posted in? Every message board I have ever read posts the older posts at the top and the newest ones at the bottom. That way you can get feel for what the conversation was...

we can, but it is a forum wide switch- we were trying it out this way for a little bit, but may go back to the old way- there are ups a nd downs to both ways- i wish it was a user customizable feature-
any one else have thoughs about which way you like it- pm me or post here

I much prefer having the old messages at the top. I think it flows better.

I agree, the problem is when you wish to view a thread, thats 5 messages long, and you have to start at the bootom and read up.. its very strange :)

its easier when the thred staters message is at the top. its easier to read scrolling down. or at least thats what i think.

I agree. When we have longer threads to read it is alot easier to start at the top and work our way down. Just a personal preference.

As a moderator of several discussion forums in the past, it is my feeling that reverse threads (newest at top) are more difficult to read for most. If a user finds the treads difficult to follow, they will not post and your board activity stagnates.
My preference would be for older posts first.
