okay..everyone seems to be talkin' about the awards on TV, so I'm gonna post who I WANT to win....hehe.
ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR
Tough one. I saw Toby in concert, and he was awesome, but I like George Strait. I think I'd rather see George, since I've been a fan forever... I remember being little, and his song was the first song I EVER sang. Although I'm only 16, so it wasn't THAT long ago, but for me...it is.
FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR:
Alison Krauss...no contest. The most angelic voice in the business.
MALE VOCALIST:
Again...I think I'd pick George Strait, but I think Brad Paisley is awesome too.
HORIZON:
No contest again...Nickel Creek. They are the most talented, in my opinion. They write most of their songs, play their own instruments(and don't rely on a band to back them up) and they are just so gosh darned cute. hehe.
SONG OF THE YEAR:
Okay...song of the year. That's a tough one, since I really don't think any of them are that great. I would've liked to see a Gary Allan song in there...like The One, but oh well. I'm sick to death of the Where were you song, so that one's out. I think I'd probably pick the Fishin' Song...though that's starting to get on my nerves too.
ALBUM OF THE YEAR:
Hm...toughie. I'm thinkin' it's between Alison Krauss and George Strait. Either one would be fine with me.
VOCAL GROUP:
Again..for me, Nickel Creek. I'm getting sooo sick of Dixie Chicks getting all the recognition, when they aren't as talented. Natalies annoyingly whiny voice is getting on my last nerve(sorry if any of you like them... )
I like RF(they put on an awesome show) but NC is better
VOCAL DUO:
Hm...this catagory doesn't hold my interest. I'm sure Brooks and Dunn with run away with it, unless Montgomery Gentry interests some people. I really don't care who wins it.
MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR:
Jerry Douglas ALL THE WAY!
VOCAL EVENT OF THE YEAR:
Hm...I like Bring on the Rain...or at least I used to. It got played out I think, but it's still a nice song to hear every once in a while. I think I'll Fly Away, just cuz I like Alison Krauss so much.
SINGLE OF THE YEAR:
Probably the Fishin' song. I'd say I'm sick of them all, but that one is still cute.
VIDEO OF THE YEAR:
Again, I would love to have seen better videos here, like a Gary Allan one(sorry...I LOOOVE him!). I have to say, Travis Tritt is my least favorite singer EVER, so he's definately out. And I gotta ask...how is Where Were You a video? He's sitting on a stool, singing. Sorry..but that's not a video. So I'll have to say I wanna talk about me. That is a funny video.
