Yesterday we went to the Temecula Bluegrass Festival. Temecula is just north of the San Diego County line. There are so few bluegrass festivals in southern California....we were delighted.
We went especially to hear Bluegrass, Etc. That's the band that helped the Nickel Creek kids when they were young....John Moore, a Bluegrass, Etc. band member, is the guy all three took lessons from back when they were wee ones.
I don't know if Bluegrass, Etc. still plays at That Pizza Place in Carlsbad, where the kids spent so much time soaking it all up, but I'm sure they follow the California bluegrass festival trail, as did Sara, Sean and Chris over the years that they were growing in San Diego County and soaking it all up and learning.
The band is excellent!
