The NC.com site's schedule shows Sean playing in Nashville in mid December, with Andrew Petersen. Anybody know anything about Andrew Petersen?

andrew peterson is a nice acoustic dude...i haven't heard much about him in a long time! i heard him on the awakening records (bebo norman, caedmons etc...very nice group of artists) compilations. if i'm thinking about the right person: it's neat they way he gets all into a song he's passionate about. a communicative fellow.

You are correct in thinking its the same Andrew Peterson from Essential Records label. He actually put out a pretty recent CD called Clear to Venus. It has Dan Tyminski playing mando on a couple of tracks. Andrew is a really great guitar player too!! I was actually looking at his website last night and reading about this tour thing. Its actually a Christmas event that he is collaborating w/ Sean, and also, the greatest guitar player ever, Phil Keaggy, and some other names that I didn't really recognize, except for the guy from Caedemon's Call I think?? I recently saw Phil in concert. He is phenonmenal!!! My friends and I were in awe. He played w/ Michael Card and Sara Groves (2 other Christian artists, very talented, check them out sometime), so his set was only 2 or 3 songs, but it honestly brought a tear to my eye seeing Phil play!! I also want to say that I think its really cool how the quote unquote Bluegrass musicians and singers seem to colaborate quite often w/ Christian artists. I really enjoy seeing that! On Andrew's first CD, Barry Bales (from AKUS) plays bass on a few songs. Anyway, I'll end now.

This show is Phenominal. I saw it last year in Jacksonville, FL. Great arrangement of music. Andrew Peterson is one of my favorite songwriters, and the music that he wrote for the Christmas show tells the story of Christ quite uniquely.... The story starts in the Old Testiment. He even sings the Messianic Lineage/geneologies in a very creative way.
Anyway, if you have the opportunity, go see the show. It's worth every penny. Oh and Andy P is coming out with a new CD in a few months.

If we could bottle up and sell all the music knowledge - technical and historic - of the people on this board: we could make a fortune! We need a little front money.....

Me me me!!! I will be there. Nash-vegas is only 3 1/2 hours from Memphis. :)
Perhaps we could meet, Bart? That would be cool to meet someone from this board! I am planning on going to the afternoon show.
Were you at the Tower Records show back in August? I might have met you and didn't know it....there were a few friends of NC there.
Anyway, I am so excited! This has really made my day. :D

I would do anything to be there, except for commit a sin or fail my History of the MOdern Middle East Exam and since the exam is the next day, I won't be there :-( It's killing me but I'll live with it:-)
Andrew Petersen is awesome-and well we all already know Sean is-tell me all about it when you get back!

Andrew Peterson is sooo good. I have a sticker on my guitar case that says Andrew Peterson is my friend. :) I saw him at a coffee house in Green Bay last year...great show, and he's such a nice, down to earth guy. His music is very inspirational to me. He has a song on Clear to Venus called Let Me Sing that is pretty much the prayer of my life. Actually, I just remembered that my friend who first got me into Nickel Creek also introduced me to Andy P...:D
That Christmas concert sounds phenomenal, too bad I don't live closer to Nashville. I can't wait to hear about it from some of you lucky ones who get to go!
God Bless,
