Street team?

on the nickelcreek.com webpage there is a section called streeteam does anyone know what this is? is it something anyone could get involved in?[think]

Usually Street team members are fans who want to help promote a band or artist in their home town. They are unpaid (though they often receive cool gifts and CD's from the record label and the artist's management). This could involve handing out flyers for upcoming shows, or leaving promotional material at venues and clubs. You might be asked to call radio stations to request songs, bring up the band or artist name on web bulletin boards, or even help at merchandise sales tables at the artist's concerts or shows. What Nickel Creek has in mind I don't know for sure, but this should give you an idea.

street team work is so much fun. i am on the street team for 3 other bands. i love doin it b/c i love music sooooo much. it really makes being a fan of your fave bands worth while!!

Was my description of street teams close? I work in the music industry, and have a coworker who does street team work for John Mayer, Dave Matthews, and Ryan Adams. She does it because she really likes those artists, and enjoys spreading the word about them. I replyed based on her description of what she does.

yeah you are basically right. you just do stuff for the band to promote them, and don't get paid. its all fun though. it is something that is really fun and makes being a fan worth while. i can't wait to be in the NC street team.

I would love to join but NC doesn't play the NW very often (the only two that I've seen are Wintergrass and at the Britt ampitheater in September). Totally sucks

well at least they are there and you can promote them there. when you are in a street team you do more work than when they are just gonna be in town. you promote the albums and stuff to. believe it or not it is a lot of work. but its fun.

You mentioned that you saw NC at the Britt Amphitheater last September.

They are scheduled to be there again this September....is this a good venue? I will just happen to be there during this time and wanted some info.
