Will pay ?? for any NC shows!!!

I would love to start a collection of NC shows. I am a HUGE fan (saw them for the fourth time in Cinci over the weekend). Please help me out, I will pay whatever it takes to get my hands on a show, even more than B & P for your time. Thanks for your help.

paying for a show is NOT cool. ever. please dont offer to pay or deal with those who demand it. since I'm expecting a new burner any day (48x!) I'll be thrilled to B&P you a show in mere minutes.

I appreciate your comment, but it's hard for someone who doesn't have access to equipment, or anything to trade to get their collection started. Most people won't just B & P for you, they only want to trade. So I am willing to pay for their time to help me get my collection started, that is all. :D

I understand it's hard to get started with nothing. it's best to find someone with a show you want and email them and ask nicely (as opposed to hey, anyone for a B&P?). if they say no, then try the next person. you'll turn people off with an offer of money b/c that's pretty much against the grain of the trading community and not very nice. you should see the flames that flare when an unsuspecting person offers or requests $ for a show on the trading boards/lists.
anyway, check your PM. and if anyone is listening, I'm putting together a live compilation of some NC, thile, fleck, marshall, DGQ, gillian, etc. for Xmas presents for my friends. I may be willing to B&P that for some folks. as long as I get my new burner soon!

I understand your frustration at just starting out, but making the offer to sell or buy NC stuff is *exactly* the sort of thing that will ruin it for everyone.

The band's management and record company have been *very* generous in allowing us to trade live shows and to permit this forum (which is financially supported by NC) to be a vehicle for discussion on trading.

The transfer of any money, no matter how insignificant, is a violation of NC's taping policy and could subject both parties to copyright infringement actions (statutory $50,000 fine!) if the record company, which owns the rights, decided to take action.

And there have been other cases where bands have stopped permitting taping because people abused the policy.

SO... Please be patient. I know that people will help you get some discs to trade if you just wait a bit. Yes, there are some who don't do B&P, but there are others who are willing to help out.
