I was wondering if any of you have joined the Sugar Hill records Street Team. If so, have you enjoyed this experience? What are the joys and the pains. Please, spill all. So, I don't get myself into something I will regret.

Thank you for asking this. I myself, have been wondering about the street team, I would love to join, but I really need to know how much of a time requirement there is as well. Any one who has done this, please let us know.
Thanks!

I was wondering about this too, I emailed and got a form to fill out but haven't done so as yet, I wanted to find out a bit more first. Does anyone know if they accept UK residents? I guess they do coz they'd want their music as popular as possible I suppose.

The Street Team is a great way to spread the word about Nickel Creek. There is little commitment, and tremendous reward! As a part of the Team, I have received updates about the band, and awesome promotional material that I have posted throughout my neighborhood. So, if you love the band, and want other people to have a chance to apprechiate their talent, than it is a great idea! I know I have met a lot of people who aren't familiar with Nickel Creek, so the material is very helpful in spreading the word!! It is very well organized. Go for it!
Happy Holidays everyone!

Ditto what Laura just said. I also am a street team member. You can put in as much time as you like and its really not that hard. I say go for it!

I joined the street team this summer and I also recommend it. I'm really outgoing and I love talking to people about the music I love, but at the same time, I'm way too paranoid about annoying/inconveniencing people. I've found that the best approach for this type of person is to not get too many materials and try to be specific about the kind/number of promo items you request. I have sort of a stock pile of promo items that I give out at festivals, to my friends, in Christmas gifts, etc. because I learned from experience that I'm not great at giving out stuff to random people. The great thing about this rep program is that you're not pressured to get rid of all your items in a certain amount of time or to give out stuff constantly. It's just about doing what you can do and what you feel comfortable doing for the music/label that you love! So, once again in too many words, I just wanted to say that if you're interested in promotions, this is a great rep program to join! Have fun with it!!!!
