know what? I think FAN STUFF should also include some sort of mass fan-project that we could, in the end, give to the band...

I'm such a freak...but I love making stuff like that. I made this totally awesome (of course I have to say that though!) fanbook for 311...I bought this hard covered, black-leatherlike book with blank pages and pasted it full of news articles from the past...reviews and of course, most importantly, fan submitted stuff like - name, age, fave song, best thing they think about...blah blah blah and pics submitted by them. It was cool...I think, not really sure what 311 thought of it because I gave it to their offical merch man who gave it to their tour manager who put it on the tourbus...haha...that's confusing.

Anyway, Jenn...you're a 311 fan? That's cool. I like them, too. However, a lot of people here in Omaha (not me) hate them. Why? Because they're stupid morons. Not 311, the people that hate them. They think 311 has a major disrepect (or something) for Omaha (their home town). For example, they don't like that 311 says they're from LA. Well, they are...now. That's where they live. And something about how they said they had to get out of Omaha if they wanted to make it anywhere. Well, thats true, too. Basically, there's a lot of people here that have huge chips on their shoulders.

Oh, and no...I didn't know them. The guys in 311 were split up between (I think) Westside and Bryan high schools. I went to Omaha North. V-Up!!

Cool idea Jenn, I thought the same thing the other day (and I'm not just saying that, I promise :) ) I was thinking perhaps we could all submit good memories of them e.g. tour moments that have been special to us, meeting them, things they've said and done, emails, comments on songs, poems people may have written, pics etc? What do think? It could be our way as fans of thanking them for everything they've given us, and it would be a good way of them remebering stuff too :D ! It could be sent via post or email. Just a suggestion.

I have a few programs with them on it. I think they are from the early 90's. They might like to see those.

oh yea- if you guys have any memorabila, old programs, etc post them here for now, peopel have been on me about updating the site... so if i get enough interest in a section on before they were big, or just neat stuff from them- I am all for it!

but- if peopel post the stuff here, it can at least be seen if i get busy this semester....

Bart, that sounds like a nice touch, I wouldn't mind seeing those clips too, but that could prove rather difficult! I have a tape of them on Jools Holland from when they were over here.

Perhaps we should begin a new thread for the, as Jenn put it, 'mass fan project', because if we all post stuff in this thread then yeah, most people would find out eventually, but they may not read it and then find out about it after it is given/sent/emailed to the band (if the whole things goes to plan of course!) and then they'll feel left out.

Matt, as stated in your last post, you may 'get busy this semester', but I figured if we're going to do this thing, then we should do it properly and considering you run this whole board (with Chip of course! :D ), perhaps you two would like to take charge of this, with help from all of us too though, e.g. if people decide to include things that perhaps you don't think the band would like (I'm sure nobody's that stupid though), so you could kinda moderate it for us?

This could be super fun if it works!
