heads up, there is a new cd out by the mark oconnor trio- in full swing -the stephane grappelli tribute #2---- wynton marsalis guests on it, and it has some pretty impressive and emotional fiddle work on it . [remember sara and sean gig with him ocassionally...] definatly a ton of growth since hot swing which was one of my favs by him......

since mark's cds are never announced properly/ very much in advance- thought it would be worth giving a holler here...

I am stopping at the cd store on the way home from work. Stephane Grappelli tribute 2, and Wynton guests on it?! How amazing is that????!! My husband's first instrument is trumpet, so he and I are huge Wynton fans. You don't often hear violin plus trumpet stuff, except for old swing (and symphonies)--- the last thing I can think of using violin and trumpet is the soundtrack for the Civil War miniseries on PBS. Come to think of it, I believe it was Mark and Wynton playing a duet. How interesting...I wonder if they met on that project and that's how Wynton got invited to play on this??

Ok-- enough rambling. I can't wait to hear it! Thanks for the heads up.

Do you know when the CD will come out of the recording he made this past summer live with Chris Thile and others? I was there for it, and they did a couple of hot swing numbers which were exceptional.

not sure, i will be seeign him in march, so i can check, his cds jsut pop out though, with little or no notic....- i also know a recording of the double fiddle concerto with nadja is on the table......

All the new album news excites me more. O'Connor, Burr and Vignola are coming to Mountain Stage in February. I've been getting pumped up for it for the last month. It's going to be so great. Jonathan

lol goose.... No, not a little sister, I've just got this little hobby of poking constant fun at anyone who give me a chance (which, beacuse I'm good at what I do, is usually everyone, all the time :D). I don't doubt for a second that matt is capable of doing such rotten things, but I wouldn't worry.

I only pick on people that I am 110% sure will hit back!!!!! [noise]
