Did Glen Campbell ever talk about his short time w/ the Beach Boys? Wow...I kinda know someone who knows someone who knows Brian Wilson. That's only 3 degrees of seperation!! That's frickin' AWESOME!! :-))

I played fiddle on Spacewrangler and Ain't Life Grand as well as thousands of live recordings that are floating around the web.
The Sit and Ski Tour of 1996 I did with them was Huge in terms of
the bands career as well as my own you might say hitting the next level. I really can't go anywhere without somebody wanting an autograph or wanting to meet me. That is what this whole thing is about though.I always do my best accomodate the public because they are the reason I can do what I love to do for a living.
When I was with Glen Campbell we did a Beach Boys Medly
and he did talk about the days he toured with the Beach Boys.
He took Brian Wilsons place singing and playing bass.It wasn't too long after that his session career exploded though working with the Wrecking Crew and Phil Spector

So I see you're over in Athens. What's going over there? Any cool music stuff over there around that whole UGA area? I'm over on the opposite side of atlanta up at KSU (Kennesaw State Univ.). Welcome to the board its great to have some more knowledgeble fiddle players besides Matt and the others. We seems to have an abundance of guitar and some mando players but never enough fiddle to help explain Sara's playing and other fiddle playing....I do have one question for you though. Do you like Homestar Runner ( www.homestarrunner.com ) ? Cool beans, welcome again.

[lolol] HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, for those that don't know...in 1964, Brian Wilson went nuts on the plane on the way to a gig. He decided he couldn't take any more touring. So, he stayed home and went to work on Pet Sounds while Glen took his place on the road. After a short period, Bruce Johnston took over that job from Glen, and stayed with the band all the way up until the official disbandment after Carl's death. Now, Bruce tours around w/ The Beach Boys Band. However, I prefer to call them Mike Love and the Misfits.

That's because they don't really express any emotions. Well, at least that's why I haven't used them. They're cool, though. Like a big knife!! [bad]

you're a quick one there. yes the guy with a white face is Strong Sad and always speaks in a some what monotone voice and seems really depressed but that's b/c no one ever notices that he is around. i see myself in strong sad a lot. now the guy with the Mexican wrestling mask and with his shirt off is just the man, named Strong Bad who is cruel, witty, but hilariously funny. He answers peoples' emails on that site that i haven't already listed. Those two are brothers and there is a third named Strong Mad who is big and makes a lot of grunting-like noises to speak. Yeah, he isn't too bright. The little guy is Homestar Runner who is the star (not really) of Homestarrunner.com. He has no arms, acts like an idiot and has a speech impediment. I see myself in him too (although I don't have a speech impediment..just a problem with spelling..). The one as my avatar right now is Pom-Pom. Yeah, he's a guy but the only noise he makes is bubble sounds. He is Homestar's best friend but quite funny at times too. There's also Marizpan, who is Homestar's g/f and she has no arms either but stills plays the guitar...go figure..and shes just...i dunno how to describe her...Other characters of mention are Bubs, The King, Coach Z (JOAREB!), and the Poopsmith (yeah his job is kinda self-explanatory), and Homesar...who..has multiple problems..

Oh no Raven girl has blown my cover. Yes its all a lie in that all that post about explaining the characters, I made up, not to mention the icons and convincing Matt to play along. Hah, thats a good one. No, I'm being for real about this site and all the characters I've already described and that its awesome..I mean..Matt even says so..c'mon.. *insert* Ad promo for Homestarrunner.com by Matt *

I found out about homestarrunner.com a short while back from a friend, and I wholeheartedly agree with Goose that it is an incredibly awesome and funny site! The characters are witty and the site is so involved with e-mails, cartoons, downloads, and even short movies to view. I like how the more recent e-mails usually have 'hidden' links that you can click on after viewing the flash animation. I'd say my favorite e-mails are the Techno one (the lightswitch rave song! ...The system is down...), The Japanese Animation one (Strongbad -- aka Megaman -- with blue hair, plus the hidden NES game screen endings... go Zelda!), and Marzipan (all the IMs as well as do you don't not dislike not Strong Bad?).

Heh heh, too funny. Anyway, everyone, go and explore the site and it should have you laughing hilariously too!

anyways.... consider fiddler59 to be another great and rare resource [along the likes of dave royco, and fiddlemaker] to bounce fiddling questions off of, he knwos a lot of stuff, and will help clarify things, or give advice twoards beginners, etc. i posted this before i think- but now that i look, it isn't there... so probably didn't get seen by anyone.....

Thanks for the reference Matt, even if you are buying a Silakowski ;-)

David, nice to have another seasoned fiddler in the neighborhood. As to Matt's kind reference, I'm really much better at making fiddles than playing them, but still have a ton of fun pretending to be a fiddler. Don't let Matt talk you into a Silakowski fiddle 'til you've tried one of mine though. (no, Matt, I may never forgive you).

Lots of new, young fiddlers hereabouts. Your offer of fiddle advice is much appreciated and won't go to waste I'm sure.

All the best,
fidlmaker
