This was in the San Diego Union-Tribune in an interview with the Dixie Chicks (thought their rendition of the National Anthem was great!).

One of the guest musicians on Home is Chris Thile, the virtuoso mandolinist in San Diego's neo-bluegrass sensations Nickel Creek. Maines sounded almost giddy as she sang his praises.

We took my son when he was 4 months old to hear Nickel Creek at a bluegrass festival, and we have their last two albums, she said. Chris is unbelievable. We were auditioning a mandolin player the other day, and said: 'Can you play this solo (from Home)?' And he said, 'Well, that's Chris Thile – he's not natural!' That's so true, and he's so young.

That is so cool!! I thought they did an excellent job singing the national anthem. Their voices blend well together.

Awwww, my DC like meter just jumped!! (Why am I talking so much about my like meter lately???) I used to hate them, but I learned to love Landslide. After I got their album for Christmas, I found a few more favs: A Home, and Top of the World. There is some really awesome fiddle playin' on that sucker!!

This is probably an unnecessary tangent (haha), but Cassie, I love that Garth song... that, She's Every Woman and When You Come Back To Me Again are my favorites from him. Very cool of you to add those lyrics to your sig. [noise]

As for the Chicks, gotta love them. I can't wait till they get back on the road again.

Why thank you!! That song has been my all-time favorite song since I was 7!! (It came out right around my birthday. I call it my present from Garth!) I'm not too huge of a fan anymore, but I still love most of his songs, especially the ones you listed!!

Sorry for the off topicness, I'll be good from now on!!
