I had heard that Chris was engaged. If so, to whom and when did this some about? This upsets me greatly and I am just being nosy, so if someone could reply back to me and give me the story I would appreciate it greatly. Thank you.[sob]

Yes, it is true that chris is engaged. As this was pretty important, I have already checked with them to see if it was reasonable to have this discussion up here.- [with our current privacy policy, there is no talk about their private lives]

Here is the deal.
Chris is ok with people knowing about it. He's of course very happy and proud about the whole thing.

However, since Chris and Jess appreciate and value their privacy, we would ask the discussion and speculation be kept to a courteous and respectful level.

Oh my gosh........ I prayed every (well almost every) night to God that Chris Thile would never get married.....so I could marry him when I get to Heaven..... but if Chris is happy, then I am. Besides, he's way older than me and it really wouldn't work out. But oh well..... To quote the lighthouse song.... ....But joy in this life seldom lasts.... now, even though I will be heartbroken for several years..... as long as Chris is happy anyway..... and I'm really happy for Jess getting to marry him. So this is to Jess.....
Please take care of our Chris for us. Most (if not all) of the girls in the fan club wanted to marry Chris, but it can only happen to one person. Besides.... (sigh) you probably deserved him more. I always knew this day would come. And so it was expected. And so it came. And so it went. I'm so glad for you....but I'm crying deeply now (and I'm not kidding, either) but it's a mixture of tears of joy for you, even though I've never met you, Jess, And a part of tears of deep saddness for myself. I'm so sorry.... I sound so selfish..... but I guess I deserved it. No, I did deserve it..... for all the bad things that I have done in my life..... I got what I deserved. You got what you deserved..... our Chris. :) But it's like that one Rascall Flatts song says I'm Movin On.....[sob] hopefully I can get there.... and Chris wasn't just about looks... he has incredible talent. I trust that God will bless Chris and his love, and that all the heartbroken fans will find true love of their own.
And Ashley, I dont think God is in the business of getting us back for all the bad things we've done, at least not in this way...if we got what we deserved, we wouldnt be here!
If and when you're married, you may realize how much of an awesome gift it is, so dont talk of deserving....all of life is grace. You'll need more than talent and looks in a man...you'll need someone who knows your heart and is willing to love you anyway!
So be happy for Chris, even if it means he'll never play again (not that I think it will), b/c true love is way more important than any of this.

I've never stood so corrected!:D I'll keep on listening to Chris, because he's still a radical mandolin player.... and I'm saving up to buy a mandolin myself. (Gosh.... I hope that I can one day play as good as him, but that's not very likely!:p ) Hopefully I can come up with a good name for it.....my mandolin, that is...... I'm considering Sara, after Sarah Watkins from Nickel Creek. (She's my favorite Creeker) or possibly Nickels, but I'm leaning more towards Sara. (Listens to Reasons Why)[noise]

i agree!! its all about the music. i must admit i was a little bummed :p but i am so glad and happy for him. i just think i was a little shocked. but him and jess are sooooo CUTE!! i wish him the best with everything!!
