Nashville, TN On April 2, 2003, the Grand Ole Opry House will set the stage
for the second annual All*Star Bluegrass Celebration, a major television
concert event to be broadcast on public television stations (PBS) nationwide.
The original All*Star Bluegrass Celebration--the first definitive public
television special on the genre in the history of bluegrass--taped in January
2002 was such a hit with public television viewers that it paved the way for
a follow-up, allowing the producers to once again assemble an All*Star
lineup of bluegrass performers to celebrate this great American art form.
Multi-Grammy winning artist Vince Gill has agreed to host this year's show
which will feature many of the genre's top artists, as well as pay tribute to
its pioneers. The live concert event will be taped to air as a special on
public television stations later this year. This special concert will take
place at the Grand Ole Opry House - home to the legendary Grand Ole Opry
which brought Bluegrass music into the homes of millions of fans for the
first time - on April 2, 2003 at 7:30 pm. Tickets for this event go on sale
Thursday, March 6th.

Joining Vince Gill, artists scheduled to perform live at the Grand Ole Opry
House include Dr. Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys, Ricky Skaggs &
Kentucky Thunder, The Del McCoury Band, the Whites, Alison Krauss & Union
Station featuring Jerry Douglas, Rhonda Vincent, Nickel Creek , Mountain
Heart, Vassar Clements leading a monster fiddle jam of the classic Orange
Blossom Special, and more.

All*Star Bluegrass Celebration II is produced by Terry Lickona, producer of
the long-running PBS music series, Austin City Limits, along with Executive
Producers Stan Strickland, co-founder of the bluegrass label Skaggs Family
Records, and Neil Mahrer, a veteran of PBS, and will be the first production
for the trio's new partnership, MSL Productions. The show will build on the
success of last year's groundbreaking pledge special and continue to spread
bluegrass music coast to coast.

Born in the hills of Appalachia in the 1930's, bluegrass has survived various
cycles of musical trends and is currently enjoying an unprecedented
renaissance born of a general desire for a return to the basics, the spirit
of authentic American roots music. The last few years have seen the
popularity of bluegrass increase exponentially with the success of artists
like Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Nickel Creek, the Del McCoury Band, as well
as the success of the recent Down From the Mountain Tour and last year's
inaugural All*Star Bluegrass Celebration on public television.

Tickets for All*Star Bluegrass II go on sale Thursday, March 6th. For more
