Well, everyone, it was everything that I hoped it would be. I drove almost 2 hours after work today to get to Greenville to meet my Dad for the concert. I didn't get to eat dinner on the way, so we went to a little coffee shop across the street from the concert. After ordering my cafe mocha, I turned around and Chris was sitting right behind me having a cup o' joe. I introduced myself and told him how much I love what they do. He was very appreciative and humble...just like i pictured he would be. I told him i was a music teacher and he said that if he weren't performing, that he'd want to teach, also. I got a pic, and took several more at the concert. I'll post them soon on a page.

After coffee and a muffin, my dad and I headed back to the concert hall. It only seated about 500...if that. Sold out and lots of folks were bumming because they couldn't get tix. They played for almost two hours and it was fantastic! The crowd was eclectic, with 10 year olds, as well as senior citizens...and EVERYONE was very appreciative and well mannered.

I don't need to tell all of you that the musicianship was just AMAZING...you guys already know what a treat they are. As I always do, I ended up liking the tunes that aren't on albums, and some may never be, but they were the highlight none the less. Some of the best parts were peter and the wolf interlude in the House of Bombadil, and the Lithium interlude in The Fox. If you haven't heard Decomposing Whales...you're in for a treat when you do.

After it was all over, I had so many thoughts on so many different levels. The most important one was that NC's music is so unique. Hard to fathom how few people in this world get to be the First at anything...Hendrix, Louis Armstrong, Bela Fleck, Neil Armstrong, etc. It's so wonderful to hear so many new sounds that are so pleasing, universal, and suitable for everyone. I can't wait for the new album!

Well, I know this was brief. If they asked me, I could write a book...but i need to get to bed. I'll let you know when I get pics on the web. If anyone else was at the concert and want to share comments, feel free to email me at fhsbando@yahoo.com

G'nite y'all

Hello Again Ben. I was in the 5th row, left side. Once, during a quiet moment in a song, I heard someone's watch beep from at least 10 or 20 feet away. I didn't expect the show to be that intimate. The amazing poise of Sarah, and the shear natural talent of Chris was even more than I could have expected. Decomposing whales was a real treat, as well as Nirvana. Sarah signed my T shirt, while I was wearing it.

I was the guy wearing a brown leather motorcycle jacket (should have been easy to recognize):)

It was worth all 9 hours of driving. Have you ever heard of Wildwood Music in Coshocton. We stopped there the next day, and played about $100,000 worth of guitars, mandlins, and banjos. One heck of a road trip.

Hey guys! I was there too... On the left side, Front Row, right down from Sara. It was awesome! She kept looking down at us and smiling, because we got to go backstage and meet them before the show. It was wonderful. And that place, was it not beautiful?
