I have noticed a lot of interesting lyrics as I have just recently purchased their latest CD, does anyone have an idea where they get there ideas from (experiences, philosophy, faith, ect.)

I suggest that you read as many interviews with them as possible...you'll get a pretty good idea where they're coming from. I think there's some interview links off their .com site. In a nutshell, they have a strong and thoughtful Christian faith, through which they cant help but write and express themselves (to put it in a somewhat weird way). I admire them for engaging the minds and hearts of their audience in a compelling, thoughtful and sincere way.
On the flip side, since they're young and they've been doing music for a long time, too many of their songs (for my tastes) are about music or being in the music business, or sudden success, etc. Not that I blame them for writing what they know, but it's not my cup o tea. But again, they're young, so experience will help that I guess. My favorite song writer, Bill Mallonee, worked in a mental health place....I'm sure he got YEARS worth of song writing material every day....

I think that their songs are what you make them . . . they dont out right say what they mean, or what they want you to think they mean, it's in the eye's of the beholder, which is the beauty of their songs. The emotions or meanings you get out of them are yours, and only yours. Some songs seem about love, but there could be something deeper within the song. That's what so great about their writing ability!

A good thing to check would be the cut by cut on sugar hill's site of their album - they explain what each song is about or how they wrote it . . . Know they have it up for Sean's album . . . and the NC UK site I think has up some random ones (mainly older stuff). If you can't find it for this side, pm me and I send it to ya . . .
