I haven't been to any. Because A. They've never come to Montana (at least recently) and B. They never come up North. SO I have to sadly say ZERO!!

I'm clocking in at a whopping 6 shows... I'm a lightweight compared to a lot of people, but I am still kind of proud of myself. I'm hoping to beat my dad this concert season... He has been to 8 NC shows. As long as my life goes as planned, I'll have him beat within the next month or so. Ahh, the sweet smell of victory! :-))
HURRAY!!! Christy you're going to Spartanburg!!! Me too me too!! I was wondering if anyone else was going. I so want to meet you. :)

4 total, three of those occured over the course of only 5 days. That was a great week! Gonna miss the Earthfest show due to a wedding that day or else that would have gone up to 5.

No chicken nuggets for you!
I've been to 3 shows, simply for the fact that they don't come to Wisconsin often and enough and when they do it's on a weekday and I have to work (f.e. April 22nd they are playing @ Valhalla Ballroom in La Crosse) The distance which is about 3-3 1/2 hours for me isn't the issue, but since it is a work night, I can't justify going to see a 2 hour+ concert and then drive all the way back home in which I could fall asleep and possibly get into an accident. So in short, a plea to NC, come to Milwaukee again and save us all from the chotch bands that come to our area!

They are wonderful in concert!
I've had the luck to see them 7 times.
1. Birchmere, Arlington, Va.
2. L.L. Bean Freeport Me.
3. Music Hall Portsmouth, NH (Wonderful Venue)
4. Cumberland County Civic Center, Portland, Me(Opening for John Mayer)
5. University of Rhode Isand (Opening for John Mayer)
6. EarthFest Boston, Ma.
7. House of Blues Boston (Great Venue)
They are wonderful to see, even better when they are not billed as the opening act.
They play incredibly long sets when it's a NC show.

Geez, I don't know. I've seen them at the past three or four MerleFests - do they count as once each, or do I count each of the separate shows that they do there? And Chris Thile has been playing at Merlefest since he was about 12 (and he was awesome even then!) - do those shows count?
Other than MerleFest, I've only seen them twice - the Cinci concert back in December, and the Folk Alliance showcase in February 2000.
That one was pretty cool - Sugar Hill records invited all of the Folk DJs to come hear Nickel Creek and the John Cowan Band in a private room at the Cleveland Convention Center. It was about a month before the first Sugar Hill CD came out. Sugar Hill's radio contact, Steve Gardner, was giving out copies of the CD to DJs. And since Folk Alliance happened to be in my home town that year, I got to run right down to the station and put it on the air the next morning. So I may well have been the first DJ in the world to get to play Ode To A Butterfly and Lighthouse Tale on the radio. Of course, Steve himself is a DJ, so who knows - he may have beaten me to it. <g>

I've just caught my seventh show, it was my second one in the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville TN. I've seen so many concerts, my very first concert was the Jackson 5, in addition, I've also seen the likes of The Eagles, Tim McGraw, Dave Matthews, The Wallflowers, Outkast, Ludakris, Keith Sweat, James Taylor, who I highly recomend, Jimmy Buffet, The Amazing Rythem Aces, Bela Fleck with Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, John Cowan, Doc Watson, who is also amazing, and I could keep going for days, but nonetheless, I can honestly say that Nickel Creek is the only show that I would look so forward to seeing that often, besides my friends Robinella and the CCStringband, who I've also seen seven times. It never gets old. They are amazing in concert. By far, my absolute favorite show.

My first show was in Knoxville on Monday and let me tell ya I was blown away by the music and Nickel Creek's love for their fans. I'm probably going to see them at Bonnaroo so I can't wait for that.

oh yeah, I forgot to mention this in my previous reply, Montana doesn't suck, I spent some time backpacking there a couple of summers ago, and it truly is God's country, I'm sure that it is very limiting as to what kind of experiences you have access to as far as music and arts go, but its still an amazing place to be, I'd love to liver there if it weren't for the brutal winters.

They're fantastic! I've never seen them in concert, being all the way here in Indiana and all. But a close friend in Tennessee really enjoys them and told me all about them. So I got a couple of their CD's and they're great!
Yeah, this is officially off topic now, so I'll bring it back around by saying I just went to my 5th concert, and I'm looking forward to my sixth in May (and looking forward to hearing Bela for the first time that night as well!).

Never seen 'em live, but Beale St. Fest Sunday is IT! Getting into the live experience via audience recordings, though... email for trade info!
It's so good to see a community of fans who see them often building... this board is great for such soul-constructive efforts! I am a veteran of the Grateful Dead scene (~60 shows from '88 to '95) and definately feel the family vibe here! Protect our scene without being defensive, and let's educate and enlighten one another! Love (gently) Rules!

I've seen them once, at the Tabernacle in Atlanta in November. I'm hoping to see them again soon, and I'd be going to see them tomorrow night in Athens if it wasn't an 18 and over only show, 1 month and 8 days before my 18th birthday, may I add. All the other shows that have been near enough to go to have conflicted with my schedule in one way or another. It makes Amber a sad panda.
I've seen them once...last August in Kansas City. I hope they will be coming back this year. They are simply AMAZING to hear live. Can't wait for the next show!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a MO date...or even a KS, NE or IA date. There's still hope. :)

I met a guy tonight at the Murray, KY show who said he'd been to like 40 shows. He grew up with Chris so he'd seen them since the mid-90s. That put me in my place.

I think his name was John but it wasn't that John. This guy was just a childhood friend I think.
