The transcript of the review and the RM file of it is at this website (http://georgegraham.com/reviews/swatkin2.html). I think it's a very well balanced review that looks at the album critically and finds both it's good points and the few shaky places.

Thanks for the link. This is a well-written review, but the dissing of Sean's singing has become somewhat redundant. Do reviews of Neil Young's or Bob Dylan's albums look like this--excellent musicianship, singing needs work.

Besides, Sean has a beautiful voice. As I have stated before, it may not be as confident or have clear/crisp tone, but what he lacks in the mechanics of singing he makes up for in the emotion. You can't teach passion or vulnerability, and Sean's voice is imbued with both.

Heh, no argument here. You're preaching to the choir.

I see what he is talking about regarding his voice it isn't as strong as Saras or Chris but is a nice voice nonetheless. Upon my first listen to 26 I thought his voice was a bit weak at times then upon another listen or two I generally thought his voice was perfect for the songs. At least in part because of the emotion and vulnerability in his voice that someone already noted. I also think his voice is big factor in NC's beautiful vocal harmony

An Intro The Cauldron review posted shortly after...

(Don't worry, mando fans... I smiled sardonically at the appropriate moment: The mandolin is not exactly the most full-bodied instrument, and the idea of a whole album of just two of the high-voiced instruments, known for their lack of sustaining quality, on the surface seems like an exercise in self-indulgence, or something of interest only to mandolin players....) ;)

And Jesse Harris' The Secret Sun, for anyone curious... writer of Norah Jones' Grammy-winning Don't Know Why:
