Any reflections on the theology found in the music? (especially the lyrics, I guess)
I for one really appreciate their approach, and I find it inspiring and encouraging.
Any thoughts?

It is one of the many reasons I love their music so much. When I intoduce other people to their music, it being the music I love, I am also introducing them a little to my faith and I think that is an awesome quality in music, especially today. It is also a very important quality that I look for in music so if I hear a band that plays inspiring music I am more willing to lean toward listening to them than another less faithful band. That is just my opinion :)

I just think it's nice to have some type of music that I can play anywhere, anytime. I have a 3 yr old, and it's even hard to find music on the radio sometimes that doesn't deal with sex or violence, or has profanity. It's also nice to be a proponent of NC at school (i'm a music teacher), and not have to skip tracks when i'm playing their music in the band room. I think their positivity is one thing that makes them so appealing. This was nothing but reinforced when I saw them live last month.

[nod] I think that the messages in some of their songs is really great too! Reasons Why and The Hand Song are two songs that are very special to me because of that. I hope that they record some more spiritual songs on their new album. Also, I think that it is wonderful that they do a hymn now in their shows (Be Thou My Vision).

It is so wonderful to actually have a group around my age who love Jesus and don't sing about depression, contemplation of suicide, lust...the list goes on and on. And yeah, telling my friends about NC gives an opportunity to witness about the wonders that God has done in my life. He is so awesome! :D And so is Nickel Creek!

:-))
i agree with all of you - i am a youth group leader at my church and i feel as though nickel creek is a great band that we can play in the car to retreats and stuff and not worry about skipping tracks. and it gives me a chance to witness to others, too - music is such a wonderful tool!
some of their earlier songs, such as Found Soul and the instrumental Kneel Before Him are some of my favorites!!!

What does theology mean? Whatever it is, if Nickel Creek has it, then I love it!!!!!

Theology is, according to Webster, the study of God and of religious doctrines and matters of divinity.
