I personally think that sean has the most sexy, smooth voice ever! Maybe we should start a petition to get him to sing more songs[noise] I would love to hear (not to mention see) more of his sexy self!

i totally agree. when i was at the shows i was in the front row and when he started to sing let it fall i moved to the edge of my seat and just stared up at him. i know he saw me to and thought i was a complete dork, chris saw me and kinda laughed. but i love his voice. and don't worry on his new album i am very sure that we will get a great dose of the voice of sean watkins!!

I have not had the chance to see him in concert but hopefully soon! Sara has a sweet voice as well as chris's talented self, but I think sean has more of a smooth velvet sound to his voice. I do hope that he will be singing more on the CD and hopefully not hiding in the videos anymore. hee hee. I do hope to see them as soon as they get back in the states.

I love Sean's voice too! Right now about the only place you can hear it is live in concert though! For the person who ordered the Sean solo cd; The only vocal track on it is sung by Glen Phillips (formerly of Toad The Wet Sprocket fame). But, there is much rejoicing in the land of Sean fans. His next solo project, which has already been recorded, is slated to have 9 vocal tracks featuring his stunning voice! :D
Sorry to everyone who this is OLD news to. Just like to keep everyone up to speed!

I got to hear Sean sing last night and ya'll are right, he does have a wonderful voice. The only thing is that I couldn't really hear him as well as the others. I guess Chris has a strong voice so when he chimed in Sean's went to the background. They need to turn his microphone up mega-loud so we can bask in the pleasure of his singing.

Good news....Sean will be singing on 9 of the tracks of his new album! And I really hope he'll be singing some on the new Nickel Creek album too! I'm sure someone has already given this info, but i'm kinda bad about reading all the posts before I reply to them!

*stares off into space* I love Sean's voice. I love Sean, period! I was dissapointed when he only sang background on Nickel Creek and he only sings two ( or one and a half ) songs on This Side . So I can't wait to hear his voice! It's totally sexy! Oh, me-OWWWWWWWWW!

I agree with the above last comment of: 'Oh, me- OWWWWW!' I love Sean's voice too, and his guitar playing, and mando playing and looks, and the fact that he's kinda short (like me), and that he's quiet and shy. Ok, so I just love Sean in general, but y'all get my point!
For those who just stared at Sean when he sang, you are not alone, I did exactly the same thing. You know how they ask the audience to sit around them at the end of thier gigs? Well, when we did that, I was right at Sean's feet, close enough to touch (I even picked where I sat so I was close to Sean, when my mum asked why I wanted to be on the left, I said coz that's where Sean's gonna be and she wondered how I knew, to which I responded, coz his is the lowest mic, and he needs two, to pick up his guitar as well as his voice), and for the whole of the last encore, even when Chris and Sara were singing, I was just staring at Sean. He probably thought I was a bit of a freak, but I don't care, I love him, he's so cool!!! I love Sara and Chris too though and desperately wish had a voice like Sara's it's so pure and beautiful!

I did the same exact thing when I went to see them in Atlanta in November. I knew where he was going to be on stage b/c he's always on the same side. Their weren't any seats where I was b/c it was open floor, so right when I got in there I ran and stood right in front of the stage-directly in front of Sean!! I was like this  the whole time! It was even better when they did the encore and came even closer I was like inches from him! It was so awesome-especially when you make eye contact with him! I love his voice, it's so..so..I don't even know how to describe it! I love that he sings the deeper parts in songs and when he sings the lead, all though when they perform live I wish he would sing all of his lead parts and not have Chris sing some of the parts. I love listening to the Nickel Creek Cd and picking out Sean singing in the background. my favorite song he sings harmony in is I Should've Known Better I absolutely love it when he says-all alone in my kitchen-I love then tone in his voice. Listen to that line right there and that's how I would describe why I love his voice. I can't get over his voice in that song! :D

well, they do the unison thing very well on this side. i easily picked them out with the singing, but the first time i heard them talking was when i checked out a little of this site's interview with them. when they speak, sean and chris have some strong similarities (at least for a person like me who hasn't heard them much and couldn't see them). that probably also comes from years of hanging out together :)

J. Marie, i agree with you, I heard an interview with NC and found it quite hard to tell if it was Sean or Chris speaking, sometimes I could, and then other times I didn't have a clue which it was. I think Sean's voice is slightly deeper though.

Seans voice is more grown up than Chris's. More manly..so to say. Not that Chris's voice isn't delightful. Sean's is just more deep and mature.
