Ok they're all up but sometimes the site will be unavailable if it gets too much traffic. By the way did anyone record this show?

sarah

hey sarah..just curious..what was the camera policy at that venue? and how close to sean were you? and for those who know photography, is that red eye caused by a flash? if so..then i'm sure sean was wondering why some girl...who appear to be really close...kept taking pictures..over..and over..and over..with that blinding flash. did that come across anyone else's mind? you didn't get to talk to chris or sean sarah? would they not come out or ? maybe he (sean) figured you already had enough of him..hehehe. glad you finally got to see them sarah.

sarah
06-12-2003, 05:31 PM
I e-mailed the venue ahead of time and they said picture taking was fine as long as it wasn't a professional camera. The red eye I think does have something to do w/ the flash but there were lights behind them that got annoying at times. When I got Chris and Sean's autographs I was kinda rushed (some people there were rude). I think a few in the crowd were drunk and cell phones kept going off during the acoustic encore. I was about 3 feet from Sean when he walked up to the edge of the stage (which was pretty often). Yeah I hope I didn't annoy the crap out of him. In the pics of me and them I look horrible. I stood for 6 hrs. straight and part of that time was in the rain. By the way they played a little over 2 1/2 hrs.

well thats great to know sarah. glad you finally got to see and meet them. i'm sure that prolly topped all for you. good to know that cameras were allowed and that annoyed look on sean's face prolly wasn't b/c of you but b/c of drunks and cell phones. set list sarah?

I'm gonna take a stab here...

Big Sam
Taxman
Beauty and the Mess
The Fox
This Side
Ferdinand the Bull
Reasons Why
Cuckoo's Nest
Take It Away
Sabra Girl
Bombadil > Strings of Fire > Bombadil
You Don't Have to Move that Mountain
The Lighthouse's Tale >Yellow > The Lighthouse's Tale
Crooked Jack

E: Speak
Spit on a Stranger
Be Thou

They also played Green and Gray, Smoothie Song, House Carpenter, Should've Know Better, and Trouble I forget when though. And an untitled song they were fighting over what the meaning was and Chris goes Maybe this song should be called arguement and Sara goes How bout Nickel Creek breaks up LOL.

Some of the stories they told too were pretty funny. Did I mention people thought I was a freak cause when we were standing in line waiting to go in they would ask me all these questions that I knew the answers to lol. Also Nickel Creek requested no smoking but I don't think everyone listened :(

I am glad that you had a good time. Just wondering did you like the lighthuse tale were they went into yellow? They did it when i was at myrtle beach last week and i loved it! And i'm jealous of your pictures i had to smuggle in mine and they came out blurry :( but i'm glad you had a good time!
Cheers

Yes I LOOOOOVED Yellow! The first concert I went to the venue said no pictures so I had to sneak some when no one was looking. But I had a crappy camera back then so they turned out blurry too. I was like this :D though when they played Strings of Fire. It's from Lord of the Dance and my mom and I loooove that song. It's actually a fiddle duet but i think the mandoand fiddle together was even better!!! I learned part of it on mando a while ago.

I was at the show in Cleveland and it was amazing. Just out of curiosity, how were you able to meet them, Sarah? Did you have to have a special pass? I waited around for a bit, but then there was talk about wristbands and decided I better just go. It was worth it completely though... They always blow me away.:p

We waited by their tour bus. This is part of an e-mail to me from a 22 year old girl who we met at the concert she was next to us on our right.

It was kinda creepin' me out when Sean would come over
near us because he doesn't really smile, though. I didn't know what to do if I ever made eye contact with him.

LOL I felt the same way! Gosh I got soooo nervous and sweaty and shaky.

For those at the concert:

Did you happen to hear a lone, random person cheer when they began to play Take It Away?

If you did, that was me. I LOVE Sean's 26 Miles and I was just waiting for them to play one of his songs. Take It Away is my second favourite on the album- the first being On Ice.

Were you in the front row? What were you wearing, or were you with anyone? 'Cause I was right in front of Sean. I had this huge orange backpack, black-rimmed glasses, a dark blue shirt with white writing (J & M Cutting Tools- if you could see it), I also had baggy grey pants on.

sarah
06-12-2003, 09:21 PM
Yeah I was front row. I'm about 5'3, black hair (I'm asian), and i was wearing a plain dark grayish blue tshirt and dark jean shorts that were kinda long. I was with my mom she's about my height, has blonde hair, and glasses.

Haha! Yep! You were directly in front of me! Your mom turned around once and gave me a friendly smile, I smiled back. You had the nifty digital camera that I kept admiring. I had the annoying zoom one, if you heard it.

By the way! Who was the bass player with them? When Chris said the name, there was too much cheering and I couldn't hear. Was it Chris' dad? Or who? He's a great dancer.

sarah
06-12-2003, 09:52 PM
LOL! Omgosh yeah my mom likes to smile and be nice to everyone even complete strangers. If we're standing in line at a grocery store or whatever she'll talk to the people infront or behind us. It's embarassing sometimes lol. She's a friendly people person cause my grandparents used to own a hotel and restaurant and so she was around a lot of epople all the time. I tease her and say one of these days someone is gonna think your a weirdo and call the police. The bass player is Mark Schatz.

Oh and about the camera thanks! It's my dad's

My mom talks to everyone, too, but she was up in the balcony for the concert.

Thanks for the info. about the bass player!

It's no small affair that he's playing with NC these days. Great combo!!

hey everybody....i've been coming to this board every now and then but i finally got around to registering because i was at the cleveland show too!!! i was frustrated because by the time my dad got home from work and we drove the over two hours and finally found the Odeon we weren't real early...and i didn't get to meet the band because they wanted to leave...but i still loved the concert!
especially Lighthouse...i was a strange combination of nearly sobbing but at the same time not able to do anything. i don't know anything about this... what's Yellow? is that a nickel creek song? and what are the extra lyrics there?

OMGOSH I love the quotes in your signature!!! My mom was laughing so hard at the one they were talking about cramming 8 people in a bunk! And I thought it was funny when they were making fun of American Idol... (I dunno if this is exactly correct).

Chris: There's a part in the refrain where it says I want to know you'll be there to catch me when I fall... That doesn't sound like the moment you wait forever for!!!

And another thing I thought was funny...

Chris: For those of you too drunk to sing along just go 'Ladadadaladada'.

sarah
06-16-2003, 01:39 PM
Also Chris was saying something about how they can't digress because they're at the lowest they can be but they never progress either. Which isn't true!!! They ROCK!

i remember that!! i thought he said something like
they're talking about THIS moment.. but then i want to know you'll be there to catch me when i fall.. and thats a little down the road? that was soo funny... and when they were saying go buy radiohead's album i said noo i want nickel creek and sara winked at me .. lol it was pretty sweet

i was sooo mad during the encore when that cell phone rang and that same stupid drunk guy yelled yeah.... ooo gosh i wanted to strangle that man!!

sarah
06-16-2003, 02:54 PM
Yeah when the cell phone rang during Speak some guy was like Awww MAN!!!! I saw Sean and Chris kinda roll their eyes and then after the song Chris was like...
Don't you hate it when there's one small sound the next noise has to be even louder it's like... 'Aww man! Geez! What the heck!?

He said somethin like that I can't really remember.

Is it just me or is everyone from up north...? Not that being a southerner I hold a grudge against people from up north. No those feelings are saved for the ones who come own here and are like the south suchs maryland is do much better. Sorry. It just seems everyone is from ohio. Or maybe it's just me?

actually thats not completely true. if any of you know about anything about geography then you know that a lot of times boundaries for regions depend on the geographer making the map. so it all depends on whose map you are using in those cases. i've seen and heard both sides of the issues. i've had ppl from maryland themselves tell me that they are apart of the south so it just depends on how you are dividing up the land.

Just so you know, I am from Ohio and just moved to Florida, and I don't feel that way at all. The weather is MUCH nicer here (the south). Up north there is lots of yucky snow.
