I have a live Nickel Creek show on an audio tape and the sound quality is actually pretty good. The person who recorded this was only able to record onto this tape and not use a mini disc recorder. I can't get it into my computer to burn onto a cd. If anyone could do this for me please let me konw and I can send the tape to you. Thanks! (The show is about a year old I think)

just plug a 1/8 inch cable to the mic input on the back of your computer, and plug the other end into a tape player. Open up some sort of recorder (cool edit is nice, anything else will do). That'll do it. If you dont have any software, cnet.com/downloads probably has something.

if it was recorded in stereo, which it probably and hopefully was, the mic input is not such a great idea, as it is possibly and probably mono... use the line in input pn your computer and a 1/8 in stereo patch cord from the tape player... you may need a 1/8 in stereo to RCA adapter cord to run out from the playback jacks on the back of a home cassette deck; if all you have is a portable walkman type player, you can run out with the 1/8 in stereo patch cord from the headphone jack... keep in mind that with the headphone output the volume control comes into play and need to be adjusted for proper levels...

If this is the master cassette, I'd love to see a quality analog > CD conversion of this recording. I can do this for you with semi-pro gear, but not until I get back from vacation in August.
If you don't mind waiting a bit, I think it'll sound significantly better than any conversion done with standard PC/soundcard tools.
