It's not a professional review, and my bias will explain why I didn't like a few of the songs... but I still gave the album a full five stars, and I think more people who liked the first album need to give this one a chance.
Anyway, read with caution... this gets long and I go into detail about every single track on the CD. Comments are appreciated.

Hopefully, I'll have my review of the 9/6 Wiltern show up soon.

Wow...whether or not my two cents would add up to be the same as your two cents I applaud your taking the time to write such a detailed review. Criticism can be made in such a way to be honest to your thoughts and feelings without offending those being criticized and I think you pulled that off pretty well.

That's a well thought out review. I don't agree with everything but your tone is very respectful so it doesn't seem as irksome as some reviews I've read. You might want to check the threads for some of the discussions about Seven Wonders and House Carpenter, these have some religous meanings that I think your not catching. Also, I'm pretty sure there isn't any banjo on This Side or their first album. Chris plays the bouzouki on the Smoothie song.

I'm sure there is some meaning that I'm missing. I'll have to listen more carefully.
About the banjo... I'm pretty sure there is a banjo in Ode to a Butterfly.
