I went and saw Guster in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium last Friday and I was hoping there would at least be one guest at this show since Nashville is such a musical city and all. And then out of nowhere about halfway into the show, Ryan says they're bringing out their new friend Sara Watkins to play violin with them. She played with them on the song Window at that point, then during the encore she played on So Long. It was sooo amazing. They didn't have her very well in the sound mix but you could hear her.
After the show I was waiting around to talk to Guster and hopefully Sara. I talked to Adam first, and asked him how they knew Sara and he said they had just met her that day. And he hopes they'll get to tour with Nickel Creek someday. Now that would be amazing. I wonder what Sara was doing in Nashville. And how she met the band.
So as I was waiting around to meet more people Sara walked out of the main door! She was with a group of friends but she was happy to say hi to me and sign a piece of paper I had. I told her I was going to see NC at the end of the month in Birmingham. So that was my first time meeting any member of NC. It was so cool!
Just letting everyone know about a random place I saw Sara. :) I should've asked her how she met Guster.
