I'm from Oklahoma. Tulsa to be exact. To answer your second question, I watched some of the OU-Texas game. I liked the end. ;) What was the score? Oh yeah, 65-13! :D

I'm a NC fan here in OKC. I didn't get to go to the Tx game but I'll make the rest. As for the Tulsa show--I wish I could go but I'll be at the OU game that day and I'll have visitors in town so there's no way I can make it. I'm pretty hacked. If it were any other night it would be perfect. I'm dying to see t hem again....

'Lo
My name is also Emily and I am from Tulsa, but different from the one above. I am going to the Cain's show and I am almost too excited to contain it!
Man Alive that game was awesome! We totally kicked them. Makes me wish I knew some one that goes to school there! Go OSU as well. Great game for them. Actually a better game as far as watching goes. OU/TX was more of a beating than a game!
Nice to know OK is well represented in Creek Ville

I am probably Oklahoma's BIGGEST Nickel Creek fan. ;) I went to the Rose State College show, and I got my tickets for the Cains show, the day they went on sale. I think I am over excited about the Tulsa show. I saw the Creek in 2001 for the first time and didn't get to see them until the Midwest City show. SO getting to see them 2 times within 3 months is a chance that I don't think us Okies will get to often. :D Obviously NC had a good enough turnout to come back to Oklahoma! Which is AWESOME news. There are obviously more NC fans in Oklahoma than we even realize. :-))

I went to the Rose State show too. We got to meet the band afterwards. It was awesome. My sister got a hug from Chris and I nervously got an autograph from Sara. Did you hang around afterwards?
I went to the show in Little Rock, Arkansas, during the summer. We sat through all the crappy bands before NC and when they got up they only got to play for about an hour. There were supposed to be fireworks and the people made them get offstage. Sara looked mad. My friends and I got mad and left without watching the fireworks. I got on the website the next and it said that after the fireworks they got back up and played acoustically while the stagehands were packing everything up. Wish we had stayed.
Anyway, guess I'll see you guys at the show:)

I was at the RSC show, as well. It was very nice! I met the band afterwards, also. They're really great people. I did feel bad because after Sean and Sara completed their greetings, I called them over for a second time. I'm sure they were exhausted and I abused my privilage. [guilty]

That's not bad, my friend told Sara that she was beautiful. Then he goes I was gonna say you were hot but I thought you'd think I was a psycho.
Then (so as to not make her think he's psychotic) as we were walking away he yells out SARA'S HOT. You may remember him. He was the screaming guy :D . I was walking beside him.

I'm sorry to be off-topic in here, but Emily you've gotten one of those marks of postdom. Yep, it says I'm funking out of school - of course, the question would be Matt, what does funking out of school mean?

i'm a creekster in stillwater. I've been to .... 7 concerts so far...
2002--
Conway, AR
Chattanooga, TN
Johnson City, TN
Kansas City, MO
2003--
Little Rock, AR
Wichita, KS
Midwest City, OK
and...Tulsa very soon!
I'm so glad they are finally coming closer.
FlanIntheFace--the crappy bands before Nickel creek...are you referring to Acoustic Syndicate and Railroad Earth? I'm surprised you didn't like them. They are no Nickel Creek, but they won my group over. We only got there that early to ensure getting decent seats for NC, but we really enjoyed those guys. I'm hoping I get to see them again, RRE especially.

Well, it was kind of a sarcastic crappy. I liked Acoustic Syndicate quite a lot actually and almost bought one of their albums. Their mandolin player was pretty cool.
Railroad Earth i was kind of indifferent to until they played Black Bear which if I'm not mistaken has the lyrics BLACK BEEEAAAARRR.......BLACK BEEEAAAARRR and last about 25 minutes.:D Actually I didn't hear the whole song, because when they started playing it my friend and I got up to get some food while my other friend and my sister stayed behind. After standing in a long line (and my friend who's a guy getting hit on by the guy that gave us our food, happens to him a lot for some reason :D ) we walked back to our place where the song was still going on and kept going on for a while. I didn't pay much attention to it because I was eating my ravioli and penne with italian sausage. My sister and my friend who watched the whole thing didn't particularly enjoy it though. They said it bored them (but my sister doesn't care for instrumentals and my friend is a percussionist and thinks bluegrass is too primitive)
What also kind of made me mad was when it got near time for NC to play and the entire town of Little Rock materialized and rushed the stage. Maybe I've just not been to a lot of outdoor concerts and that may be what always happens, but we had a pretty nice little spot and I would have liked to sit down. It was a pretty energetic show though.
I think I just transferred my anger about the whole fireworks thing to everything that happened before and after Nickel Creek. They were awesome and I got to hear Yellow at the end of Lighthouse so I was happy about that.
It was awesome when they did the Wilco songs at Rose State too. They started doing Lighthouse and this older woman in front of me told her friend That's your song. Then at the end they started to go I am an american aquarium drinker... and she indignantly said something like THAT's not MY song. And for the encore when they did Poor Places that was beautiful. I didn't appreciate that song until I heard Chris sing it.
Wow, this is quite a post :D
p.s. I went to the Conway show too. Did they do a little bit of Nirvana's Lithium at one point? I think I remember that but I may just be crazy. Vaguely remember something about I buy candles in a daze cause I've found God.

Flan--
sorry about delay in the reply. I just now saw this :) It sounds like your whole LR experience was frustrating. I would check out RRE again. They really are very good. I didn't hear Black Bear (That's when we were on a port-a-potty search). I was downright perturbed by the whole people rushing the stage thing too. We were very close but people got in front of us and then we had to stand. I'm only 5'4 and I was behind a family of 4...all over 5'10 even the mom! Luckily their teenagish son realized I couldn't see so he stood sideways most of the time and even took a bunch of pictures for me :) I thought that was kind.
and NC DID! play part of Lithium and I have never heard them do it since! it was wonderful though. I love hearing all the new bits of covers thew throw into things :)

I didn't think that I was crazy.:D
They do Lithium on the special that played on Sundance. They also do a cover of Radiohead's National Anthem. I wish I had taped that show. Maybe they'll show it again.

i haven't heard them play national anthem in any songs since that summer of 02. I wish I had copies of those shows... that one in conway is one of my favorites still :)
