It has been a dream of mine to do this for some time. I'm both a NC fan and a LOTR fan. Knowing that Chris enjoys LOTR as well (and perhaps Sean and Sara too, I don't know) I wanted to make a combination website. But alas, my computing skills, though let me navigate my computer and the web, are not advanced enough to do this. Time may be another factor. And maybe money. Should I toss the Idea? Is it a bad Idea in the first place? Does anyone have any pointers or insight? or help? (that would be awsome!)
What do you think?

It might help if you learned HTML (hyper text markup language) and maybe Java script, believe me it helps alot when you are making sites. Also, you might want to look into programs that specify in web design and graphics such as Fireworks and Dreamweaver (although the cost you an arm and a leg). That's what we are working on in school right now and its cool and alot of fun. BE WARNED starting and maitaining a pain in the butt, so be sure you really want to and have the time to make the effort before you do it.

if you're looking for a quick start up to work your way into total html control over your site, i'd use yahoo! geocities. I used it with my fan fic site and gradually went from using their program that allows you to point and drag things to create pages to using html to create pages. Plus, it's free O.o...
I'd also recomend starting small. Not trying to do everything at once. You can always modify something later after you learn more, but starting simple is nothing to scoff at. :)
Have fun, as well. It's a constant learning experience.

yea- constant learnign .. html and webpages are a good thing to knwo how to do.. if you saw my pages from years ago. LOL gosh- i gag at them.
just remember.. more is less. a bunch of rotating icons and as much graphics as you can fit in does not mean it looks nice or is readable.
for my hero- refer to the strongbad's webpage.. [or don't refer would be better]
