well. we are about 2 months out from the new creek cd being released... as i won't be around very much till the time the cd comes out- i am starting this planning really really really early.. and hopefully things will be put together by time the cd is ready to be released...... so it will be fun, and semi random till the time the cd comes out- but well worth while!

however.. it is time now for the fan club to do what most fan clubs do.... help promote the artist.....

first of all... this message thread is the start of a list [the first one of many].. what i am going to ask, if you have heard nickel creek played on a radio station near where you live.. could you post up the radio station details here- such as location, freq., web page, style [country, rock, or what ever], ..and most importantly the email and phone number to call in requests... once we figure where sugar hill will be targeting the marketing, we will probably expand this list to stations that haven't already been playing creek‘s music.. then closer to time, i will put the lists together, and we will get a plan on how to call in requests to these stations..... there is a certain way for people in groups to request songs, that is much more effective than others- i will go over that later......

also- be throwing out ideas on stuff we can do to promote them.

The only station in my area that I have heard NC on is 88.5 WXPN, a small non-commercial station in Philly

I don't listen much to the country station in Philly, but I would bet that they aren't getting any airplay on that station. That station sticks to the top 40 style of country that many of the major market country stations are playing.

I first heard of Nickel Creek through my tv, actually. DC has a really awesome puublic musical station called MHz & they played the lighthouse video several times. (I don't listen to the radio at all.) The next step for me was to go to the show that was well-publicized in Charlottesville, VA. Only then was I hooked.

I have only heard them on one station here in Washington...that would be KSER 90.7

That radio station is an eclectic listener supported radio station. I have only heard Light House's Tale on this station so far.

she had over 600 entries i know- and got swamped with that [pretty cool that there turned out to be that many people interested!] if you guys hear anything- lets us know...

by the way- we do have an possible option to have a forum that only streetteam people can get in to- if i can cordinate with lists of members.... but that is way way way in the future type planning///

I have to give props to my favorite country station, 97.5 WQBE (Charleston, WV). They actually play The Lighthouse's Tale on a regular basis. And I have to say a big YOU SUCK to Kicks 96.1, because I have NEVER heard them play a single nickel creek song.
