Just wanted to give my impression of the NC show in Tulsa.
First, I must mention that the show was at the legendary Cain's Ballroom. This is the home of Western swing music. The venue has recently completed about a year of restoration, and it looks great.
Upon arriving, I was stunned to see two HUGE lines leading into the ballroom. Once inside, it was obvious the place was going to be packed, so we quickly went toward the stage (I love general admission).
The opener was Jared Tyler, who is the leader of a local band. His music was nice, very folksy/bluesy.
Once NC took the stage, the crowd got into it. The set list seems to be fairly consistent with other shows. The crowd was also very vocal. There was more than one We love you Chris! shouted. Chris even made a mention of the 77-0 victory for the Sooners, which the crowd loved.
For an encore, they did a great acoustic set away from the mics and off the amps. The stage is so low that people were chatting with Sean while Chris and Sara discussed what to play. Plenty of requests came from the crowd, but they went into Take Me Back To Tulsa, which is an old Bob Wills song (Cain's is billed as The Home of Bob Wills). The crowd joined in, which made it that much better.
Overall, easily the best concert I have ever attended. Even better than Fleetwood Mac, who is my favorite band of all time!
