Just wanted to give my impression of the NC show in Tulsa.

First, I must mention that the show was at the legendary Cain's Ballroom. This is the home of Western swing music. The venue has recently completed about a year of restoration, and it looks great.

Upon arriving, I was stunned to see two HUGE lines leading into the ballroom. Once inside, it was obvious the place was going to be packed, so we quickly went toward the stage (I love general admission).

The opener was Jared Tyler, who is the leader of a local band. His music was nice, very folksy/bluesy.

Once NC took the stage, the crowd got into it. The set list seems to be fairly consistent with other shows. The crowd was also very vocal. There was more than one We love you Chris! shouted. Chris even made a mention of the 77-0 victory for the Sooners, which the crowd loved.

For an encore, they did a great acoustic set away from the mics and off the amps. The stage is so low that people were chatting with Sean while Chris and Sara discussed what to play. Plenty of requests came from the crowd, but they went into Take Me Back To Tulsa, which is an old Bob Wills song (Cain's is billed as The Home of Bob Wills). The crowd joined in, which made it that much better.

Overall, easily the best concert I have ever attended. Even better than Fleetwood Mac, who is my favorite band of all time!

Great! The Cain's Ballroom is a wonderful old venue. It's got alot of history, as the home to Western Swing music, and they recently spent a ton of cash rennovating it and adding much-needed air conditioning.

It's kind of funny, when I first found out they were playing the Cain's, I was a little bummed. I thought the Brady Theater would be more appropriate because it had seating, and was also a nice old venue. I saw AK+US there, and they were great. But, since the show, I've realized they probably couldn't have had such an intimate show at any other venue.

Yep, that's good stuff. I first saw them at the State Fair when I was about 12 or 13. Didn't like it then as much as I do now! [lloll]

Well I've always been into country music, but probably the last 2 or 3 years I've really started listening to bluegrass. The music is so raw well, its acoustic and I love that:)

I saw Allison and Union Station at the Brady back in April. I was on the balcony, but you could see everything from there. Next time the Creek comes to Tulsa, they should do the Brady. ;)

I think the AC was working against them during the acoustic encore set, though... Plus the people talking in the back.

Really great venue, though. I hadn't been there in years, I think last time I was there was to see They Might Be Giants in the early to mid 90's... Maybe another show I'm not remembering since then. The ceilings were really low back then, too. They really did a great job with the renovation, and it was well suited for a NC show.

Ew, people shouldn't talk during concerts, that's so rude! Especially during an unamplified portion! Yuck. When I saw NC at the Wiltern in L.A., the crowd shocked me... they were SO polite, you coulda heard a pin drop during the encore! Every now and then someone would get excited and start cheering, but Sara would just go shhhhh and then the whole room shut up... it was awesome :D

Ya'll were lucky then:) cause in Tallahassee there were some drunks in the back that just wouldn't shut up!
