Cake fer Sean!

I have seen NC twice now. The first show, I gave Sarah a small gift. The second time, I gave Chris a letter. All of this was quite spontaneous of me. Not planned. Anyhow, I saw Sean & I felt bad. I told him next time I'd bring him something, too. I asked him what he wanted, but he said anything would be fine. I suggested I could bake him a cake, but I'm not sure if that would be a good idea safety-wise. (cuz it's possible there's a psycho out there that would do sometihing to the cake...you get it.) So um, what should I do for him? What should I give him? I need some suggestions here.......???

Pyxi....IMO, you should simply give him a nice card with some of your thoughts about his music, a particular song you really enjoy, your appreciation to him for his talents, etc. I wouldn't give gifts to celebs.

I'd give him the card, too. That was a good idea. But I don't think he really needs a card...why don't you tell him in person. But, then again, it's not up to me...teehee....but if it was, I'd buy him some hair gel because he looks better on the Nickel Creek CD than in person....[lolol]

Sean's wearing his hair the way my youngest son does, I think it's in now. I'd like it a little longer, but then I always like guys with longish hair! I like Chris' hair spiked, looks cute. And I love Sara when she does those little braids along the side.

You said you could bake him a cake, so do it. But, like Reignfall said, Use your imagination. Who ever said it had to be a 1 ft wide x 3 ft tall masterpiece? Bake him cupcakes!! Just taking him a couple would do.

OMG! Sean is so hot! Ok, when I first saw the CD cover for the NC cd, I swear, I thought that Sean looked like Nick Lachey (the guy from 98 degress...please do NOT kill me for comparing Sean to a guy in a boy band!) but then when I saw him in person, I realized he was even HOTTER! Oh, and to whoever started this post (sorry, I don't remember) how did you give your gifts to Sara/Chris? I wanted to give them something (just so I could show them how much they mean to their fans) but I didn't know what I would say! Like, hey, here, I got this for you doesn't sound to great! Any advice?

I think most any artists, but most likely Chris, Sara and Sean in particular, would appreciate kind words/thoughts in a card or letter... the artists I worked with always read them, and saved some that were really meaningful for quite a while.

I agree with whomever suggested that celebs don't really need gifts... Nickel Creek is doing well enough now that they can probably buy whatever their rather modest needs are... and keep in mind that when one is a touring entertainer (or, for that matter road crew) carrying stuff around can become problematic... at some point, it has to be taken on an airplane or shipped home, and most artists pick up enough things themselves while on the road anyway... so my vote would be for cookies or cupcakes or something... When I toured, we always had a special memory for the fans that made us yummy stuff, or the caterer with the amazing sushi... road food can get pretty tiring :)

yeah thats true. i really like the card/letter approach. thats what i did. when i first met nickel creek i didn'thave a lot of time to chat. so i wrote all of the letters and a letter to NC as a group. and then the next show i gave it to them. they were kinda shocked that i took so long to do it, lol. chris was just thanks sooooo much you didnt' have to do that, you are so nice kinda thing, lol. and the next show i went to they remembered me, yay. so i was alittle happy. :p

WHat did you say when you have the letters to them? That's my big issue, I mean, I really want to put in words how much their music means to me (since I always make an idiot of myself when I meet them), but I wouldn't know what to say when I gave them to them. any suggestions?

well i just said in this envelope there are letters to all you guys and to nickel creek as a group. i had all them in one envelope to just keep them together. and intended on handing it to sara and forgot and gave it to chris since he was the last one i saw. but just say i wrote you guys a letter and here it is. its really that easy, lol.

Thanks for the tips on giving them letters...I was afraid I'd sound like a huge dork being like Here, I wrote these for ya....but I guess nothing could be worse than the time I cried when I met Chris and then again when I met Sara.....ugh, I'm embarassed just thinkin about it!
