View Full Version : Lime Kiln Theatre (Lexington VA) concert
Like a lot of us, I fell in love with the band and its music after the PBS concert the other night. Searching the tour dates for shows close to me hit a jackpot: N.C. will be in the little city of Lexington VA, on Oct. 5, where I just graduated from W&L University. I was totally psyched all night, going to get back to Lexington and see an awesome concert.
Wow. Sold out. And the waiting list is something like 600 tickets long, already. Did I mention Wow!?
So... I am pursuing alternative avenues. Does anyone know of a company other than the ticket outlet attached to the official web site that would have tickets for this concert? Anyone that might have one or two tix to get rid of? I've asked my friends in Roanoke to watch the local paper, but I don't have my hopes up. I am as close to desparate as I could get; I think I am wearing a groove in my CD!
Thanks!

Where did you see that the show was sold out? My family and I are planning on going to the 10/4 Salem Va show and then the 10/5 Lexington show.

I'm in the same position. My brother and I were planning on going to both of the shows also. I thought that we couldn't even buy the tickets yet cuz at the site it doesn't have the for sale sign beside it. Now I am quite upset!
Sounds like we all had the same experience. The concert is the last in the Lime Kiln 2002 concert series, and it's the only one without a Buy tickets icon, so I (and some others, apparently) thought that it simply hadn't gone on sale yet. A phone call to the ticket outlet, though, informed me otherwise: Sold Out.
I called Lime Kiln directly, and they offered to put me on a waiting list. On the day of the concert (not much good for those of us coming from out-of-state), they will offer to call you if tickets become available at the last minute. Problem is that, in only June, there are 167 other people already on the list, and most of them want four tickets (i.e., forget it).
Arghhh.

Salem's website doesnt have an onsale date yet, so lets try and keep this thread active for when they do go onsale.
From what I can tell Lime Kiln looks like a small venue which may account for the fast sell-out. All hope is not lost though.....where there is a will there is a way

After hearing the disturbing news about the Lexington show, I e-mailed the Salem Civic Center to see if maybe the same thing was going on with them. However, the reply was:
I do not have any information on that show at this time.

So yeah, we definitely need to watch out for eachother and as soon as tickets go on sale for this one, let it be known.

I should have posted this earlier to save poor Ms. Hite from getting inundated. She said Ticketmaster's site will eventually have the information on the Salem show when it becomes available, so we should keep an eye on TM.

Ok here's the story from Lime Kiln. Their outdoor theater holds about 750, but the Tent theater holds about 500. So if the weather is nice they will release the additional lawn seats for the outdoor theater a day or 2 before the show.
I got myself on the list so hopefully, it will be nice weather. We are staying the weekend in Lynchburg so we will be seeing the Salem show on Friday and hopefully the Lexington show Saturday.

Ah, yes...let's keep each other well informed about the Salem show. I'd really like to attend. The show at Grave's Mountain was very successful & I thing they were gonna be asked to come back next year, so keep that in mind, too. Plus, I'm sure with the success of the show last April at Starr Hill in Charlottesville, they'll be back there within a year or so...

I spoke with the manager at Lime Kiln and he told me that they would release approximately 200 tickets on the day of the show - weather permitting. He also tols me that several weeks ago the waiting list was in excess of 400. Sorry for the bad news. I am also trying to get tickets for the show. I live just outside of Lexington and I can't find any avenues to pursue. Let me know if you find any new ways to try. Good Luck to all (me included)![sob]
