Can someone tell me about band tour dates?

Hi all!

Hope you all had a great Christmas!

I was just looking for a little information. Over here bands tend to announce tour dates fairly in advance and they are published on their websites and in newspapers etc. A lot of our Sunday papers have sections full of tour ads. I just wondered if there were any magazines of newpapers I may be able to import to get hold of American band tour dates? I'll be out in the US next summer and would love to catch some shows while I'm there, especially as a lot of the bands I like hardly, if ever, come to these shores and American crowds seem to be more fun! well... from the crowds I've heard on NC shows I have and stuff! :D

Any information will be gratefully recieved!

You may also try just googling US tour and then the time period you're going to be over here - there's probably a few sites out there that keep track of this stuff. :) and, maybe sites less evil than ones owned by, *shudders* ticketmaster...I wish our Sunday papers had pages full of tour dates, that would be too cool...

Thanks for the info. I shall try Googling. I'm always checking the UK Ticketmaster site for dates, never occured to me to look on the US one - DOH! I hate Ticketmaster too, they are sooooooo expensive sometimes, but I have to buy from them on occassions, especialy if they're the only place selling tickets for a gig.

Well you can use Pollstar, too. Like ticketmaster but more listing than buying. Just search up the cities you're after...not sure how far in advance it is! Good luck.
