hah I know what you mean. IF only I were in Florida three months EARLIER than I plan to be I could make a few hours drive up north to Atlanta and see two Creek shows...hopefully when the more tour dates come out, it'll work in my schedule *crosses fingers*

I almost had a heart attack when I saw that they're going to the University of Mississippi. I love it there, it's my dad's alma mater and we go back at least once a year. The campus it exquisitly beautiful and there are tons of fun little shops and places to eat. For example the Bottletree Bakery and Old Venice Pizza Co. right off the square are a couple of my favorites. Some other favorites are Abner's and The Beacon.
I'm not going to be able to go because I'm going to be at the Homeschool Basketball Nationals Tournament in Oklahoma City that week which I have been looking forward to but now that NC is going to be in Oxford I'm really quite sad that I have to go to the Tournament.
Even though Houston is a 10 hour drive from Oxford I'd be there in a flash. I'm sure they'll come closer to Houston before they stop touring but I always thought it would be cool to see them at Ole Miss but I guess I'll have to wait.
Well to whoever goes to Oxford enjoy!

No love for the UK either! :( It's interesting to see that they're taking a support act with them this tour though. I quite like what I've heard of Mindy Smith, I especially like her version of Dolly's 'Jolene'... *wonders what she'd be like live*...

I just check their concert dates again and they are going to be at the Hollywood Bowl on Sep. 3 and 4!! They will be with the LA Philharmonic and the concert is called From Bluegrass Roots: The New American Acoustic.
That sounds like a fun concert and I heard that the Hollywood Bowl is a really nice venue. :)

Never fear, there are still the months of April to August that need to be filled up with tour dates (and so I'm hoping I get a NC fix shortly before I move to SD or MN --- not quite where or even WHEN I'm out of WA --- and while I'm in FL that would be great) :)

they can't fill up the entire month of August, at least not the first week of it anyway, 'cause Chris is gonna be busy teaching me and a whole lot of other excited happy people how to play mando better. ;)

ahhah...yes, yes I know! You know...maybe Sean & Sara'll stop by and play the mando too ahahahah --- that'd be fun, but prolly not...

Heheh, I wouldn't mind that! I know Sean plays mando 'cause he played it on their 1st CD when they were kids... and I'm sure Sara could play mando if she wanted to also, lol ;)

Yeah, he's also played it at various shows. Speaking of Sean on the mando, I'm going to do a little update on Watkins Family Online for his birthday and yeah, there's a lovely picture of him in concert playing the mando from a couple of years ago :)

I didn't know he still played it live; that is extremely cool! :D

I'd love to see Sean play mando live. I have a show on which he plays a piece with Chris ('For What It's Worth') but I don't think I've ever even seen a pic of him playing mando.

*sigh*
Still no Northeastern shows...Do you think that they'd play at the Newport Folk Festival again?:D Good times, good times...
Grantham Pennsylvania's relatively close to the Northeast. Only an hour and a half from Philadelphia.
I've already got about 10 people coming out from LaSalle University to see that show.

That's something to consider.
I'm in the process of convincing my mom to have a mother-daughter weekend...the same weekend (coincindentally;) ) as the concert...

ARGHS! I swear to God they are killing me! LOL Seriously, they have a Spokane date on the 15, and Portland on the 17th, but both are too far for me to go because I'd have to stay overnight and I don't have that kind of money (and I would not attempt to drive back because I'd be freakin' delerious, which is how I am when I'm up late regardless, but add Nickel Creek to that list? Yeah, it'd be scary. I hope they fill in that gap of the 16th with Seattle or I'll be upset with NO Nickel Creek show and the band surrounding me like that LOL That would be, as I've said to my friends before, claus for a band divorce ahaha...but I really don't want to do that

Yes! A San Francisco date on 4/10 at the Warfield!!!!! I just saw Travis there a few weeks ago and Nickel Creek will be perfect for that venue! Can't wait :D

Lawrence is only around 4 hours away from me. Though, sadly, it's a school night and my parents don't love me enough to take me. :p

Aww...bummer Okie...but Yay for them adding a Seattle date a few hours after my posting of despair. Now, I just have to find someone to go with me (but I won't let that stop me from buying tickets when they go on sale next week -- I'll find someone, somehow haha).

So does anyone know for sure if they're doing a summer tour? By what Kathy has posted on nickelcreek.com, it sounds like the answer's no...
