Should They???
I think that it would be sooo kewl if they did a live album. I love their live show and I know alot of you do too!! So tell me what you think. And what songs would you guys want to hear on the album!?!?!
I would really want to hear Green and Grey, The Fox, Sweet Afton, Let It Fall, Ode to the Butterfly, and a few of Chris's songs!!

I think after they build their repetoir a bit more they should do a live album. Or perhaps they have a bigger song list than they let on in the shows? I like bands that are able to play entirely different sets on different nights, but if you only have 1 studio album, then I guess that's a bit limiting.

I'll have to agree with Bob on this one. While I have a nice soundboard of a live show with 2 sets, their song list is still a little limited for them to release a live album. I would also love to hear them stretch out some more of their songs into longer jam sessions like they do with The Fox. Most of their vocal songs are very open for jamming and hopefully they'll start to work those openings more in their live shows.

I think that eventually a live album would be so great but right now, I`m in agreement with everyone else. They really don`t have many original songs to base the album on and, although one or two covers is great, they can`t pull the weight, you know?
Glory willing, after another album or two, we`ll get Nickel Creek Live. :D

yeah i would hope so. like i said some new material would be really nice to hear live.
Hmmmm.
Actually, I'd disagree about their set list being limited. From the collection of live show recordings that I have (which isn't that large), I've assembled a CD with at least 45-60 minutes of music that's unreleased... *not* including the 30 minute Fox jams.
From what I've heard, they've definitely been focusing on a certain group of tunes lately, but their repertoire is much larger... there are a four or five tunes from Here to There that they pull out from time to time, at least one or two Toad songs, plus the Woodburning song, a couple jazz standards, and some obscure original tunes (Peace with Disaster comes to mind) and all of the Glen Phillips/NC tunes from the MAS recording.
I'd love to see a live record, but I also agree with Bob that putting out another studio album or two is a good plan... and don't forget that we'll have TWO new studio records this year... This Side on August 13th, and Mutual Admiration Society (with Glen Phillips) a little later this year.

i would like them to put out a live cd or even a studio cd with their older songs from 98. like scared, true stories, tendencies human, one man's horizon, alive, his grace, make me your instrument, god loves his children, katie hill, red haired boy

I think that they definitly should come out with a live album. I haven't been able to see them live yet (hopefully I will whenever they come to Dallas), so I would enjoy hearing how they sound live on a CD.
