I think the best part was when they predicted that one of their quotes would go up on the internet. LOL

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
First of all, I am going through major Creek withdrawl right now...especially because I can't make it to the Creek tonight in Philly...arrgh.

Anyway...

Venue
Messiah's Gym--people were up in front sitting (at first, then standing) on the floor, there were a few rows of chairs in back of them and on the sides of them, and then the bleachers in the back.

The gym was great, accoustic wise, which was nice when they did an accoustic encore set. It was fun that everyone was able to stand up in front of them...but it wasn't cool that it sort of blocked people's view of the performers. I thought everyone in front would stay sitting...I did get used to it though, so it didn't really ruin it for me. But I do like to watch them play. :(

Crowd
We were officially dubbed the best crowd of the tour LOL.

The crowd was great, though it did have its drawbacks. Because it's a college, there was a lot of energy in the room...I wasn't the only one cheering for every solo and intense vocal moment LOL. They said it was so fun playing for this crowd, they wished they could play for us every night. Every time there was a quiet moment, some guy or girl in the back would scream, I love you guys! or You guys rock!, which led Chris and Sean to sort of mocking that...LOL

But the crowd was high energy, making for a more energetic performance from the guys and Sarah. And we are officially the first crowd ever to clap in polyrhythms! (We accidentally clapped 4 against 9 during the Butterfly interlude, it was so cool to see Chris start to play off of that). And know what happens when you play at a Christian college? You get a gym full of people who can sing along to Be Thou My Vision, in three part harmony. :) I think that really touched the whole band.

The crowd did occasionally get obnoxious though. Umm, what's with clapping for the next song while they're tuning? (They're obviously going to get to the next song eventually). It almost messed up the beginning of Sabra Girl. They wouldn't stop shouting for The Fox or Lighthouse during the encore either...my friend from Messiah, who's not even a Creek fan (she just loves me enough to endure a concert with rabid, annoying me LOL ;) ) was like, Geez that's rude, they're going to play what they want to play.... And then I 'bout flipped out at a few rude kids outside near the bus...they're not required to come talk with us and sign autographs, they're doing us a huge favor.

I guess you know you've made it when you have obnoxious fans to contend with mixed in. ;)

[B]The Band
They've all caught Chris's epidemic of bouncing around stage LOL. Sarah is moving around a lot more like Chris, especially now that she's freed up with what looks like a new, wire-less pick-up. Sean even moves around more, the band all changed positions a few times during the instrumentals, and they would go out onto the very end of the stage to play to the crowd a number of times. It was great.

Chris almost sounded like he had a cold or something when he was talking...I hope he's not over-straining his voice. With all the screaming and belting he does, he could get vocal nodes if he's not careful. (That means at least 6 weeks or 6 months without singing or talking, I forget which...they're baaad LOL). Both Chris and Sarah's voices sound raspier than they did a few years ago, come to think of it...I didn't quite realize it until last night. Sean's voice sounded different, too...he sounded great. And that's not to say that he normally doesn't. But his voice sounded really open and full, I was thrown, he sounded awesome.

[B]My Personal Story
Creek show #5, yeahhh buddy!

Went with a friend (a very brave friend, I might add LOL, she put up with me at a Creek concert) who goes to Messiah, and I had a blast. If you were there and saw a girl in an Always Listen tee, with a shameless plug for the GreenAndGray.net board paper-clipped to her back, dancing around in her place right in front of the light guy...that was me. [noise]

I was hoping to get pictures with Sean and Sarah this time since I have two with Chris and none with them, but I wasn't able to get to Sean before they left. I wasn't really able to talk to Sarah this time, but she did pose for a picture with me. I got to say hi to Chris and bestow another silver sharpie...he says hi to Heather, too. LOL I then hesitantly asked for a picture.

When we were posing for a picture and I said, I hate to bother you guys, I'm always afraid to ask.., Chris was like, Are you kidding?? It's..such an honor, to meet with you guys after the shows. So I replied that I was glad, because they are without a doubt my favorite band of all time, which (I hope) seemed to touch him (such a humble guy!). But that is the second time I've told him that, and he had a similar reaction the first time, so I hope he does appreciate it. So he signed my poster for good measure, and thanked me for coming.

Quotes
Coming soon, I'm rather tired of typing... In the meantime, here's my favorite, and it's rather fitting to put it here.

Chris: We have so much fun, every night, with the MCing on stage. You know what, it's a joy to hear ourselves talk.
(Then tries to explain that he was kidding Crowd laughs, there's a beat)
Sean: You know, tomorrow that'll be up on the internet, quoting us saying that we love to hear ourselves talk.

Set-list

Uhh, I'm not good at remembering exactly what they played, and in what order. LOL This is what I can tell you:

-They opened with Scotch and Chocolate, a brand-new instrumental
-Their official closer (before the encore sets) was Jacksmith
-They did a full two hour set (no opener), then did three plugged encore songs and three unplugged encore songs.

-Songs I remember hearing are as follows :
Should'a Known Better
When You Come Back Down
Ode to a Butterfly>Celtic Jam>Butterfly
Trouble
Rain Outside/Through My Window (brand-new, written by all three)
Sweet Afton
Smoothie Song
Speak
Sabra Girl
New song...about pictures, or secrets, or something?
Itzinay
Reasons Why
Maybe So (new, debuted)
Starve Them To Death (new...though they've done it at Watkins Family Hour shows before)
In the House of Tom Bombadil (with a jam/medley/cover??)
Out of the Woods
Jacksmith

Encore:
-Beck cover, Where It's At (that was hilarious )
-Doubting Thomas>The Fox>song I don't know, Mr. Vulture?>Fox
-Sunny Tennessee (accoustic)
-Some bluegrass tune (accoustic)
-Be Thou My Vision (accoustic)

Overall: a good concert, it was a lot of fun. I can't wait to hear the new album, though it now sounds like we have until the end of this year for that! But go to a college venue if you want a rock-concert like atmosphere...they kept on adding encores because we were so rowdy LOL. I do think my favorite show is still the Keswick last year, however.
