Badly Drawn Boy

Since we seem to like recommendations, does anyone like Badly Drawn Boy? Or, more importantly, has anyone heard his new stuff? I know he did a soundtrack for a movie called About A Boy, but I haven't heard anything about it at all. Anyone know if it was any good? I absolutely love Hour of Bewilderbeast. One of my all time favorite cds. :)

damon gough is my home town boy so i've got to reply to this one.

the about a boy soundtrack is fantastic. go and see the film too - all the music and incidental stuff is by him. it's very melodic and chilled. the nearest thing i can compare it to is Elliot Smith.

I am so glad someone mentioned Badly Drawn Boy. I fell in love with the About a Boy soundtrack a few weeks ago... It's just really cool music. There are so many influences in it, and I agree... The closest thing I could compare it with is Elliott Smith's music... Except for the voice. His voice reminds me of Neil Finn (of Crowded House). Good stuff.
