MAS show in boston

My roommate and I are planning on going to the MAS show in boston. I was wondering if anyone on here could recommend a decent/cheap hotel that is near the club they're playing at. And open to any suggestions for things to do during the day. I've never been to boston and it was one place i wanted to visit this summer so now that NC is playing there I can cross two things off my list of summer things to do!
