OK, this is pretty far off-topic for Nickel Creek, but hey, that's what this section is for, right?
The band Sleeper7 has just launched their new website (www.sleeper7.com). They're young, amazingly talented songwriters and musicians, although pretty different from Nickel Creek... definitely on the harder side of the rock genre.
Anyway, I'm totally hooked on one of their tunes, called Losing the Stitches. That, along with some of their other stuff, reminds me a little bit of some of Toad the Wet Sprocket's stuff, and I'd like to ask anyone reading this to wander over to www.sleeper7.com and give a listen to that tune (and the other two they have up, if you want) and comment on them... the band is really looking to know what people think of these new tunes from their just-released recording. (They've got their own discussion board like this one, as well, if you want to comment.)
Sleeper7 would also be delighted, if you like their music, to have you join their mailing list and street team... they'll be touring the midwest and west late this summer, then doing dates in northern and central California in the fall. They're a great bunch of guys, really friendly and very approachable, and I'm thinking they'll be pretty popular before long.
Thanks!
Chip
