sorry, about that. Somehow I just lost my post, which took me a while to write. Oh well! I'll just have to sum up:
Love NC!!! been to all the shows in Portland, and tear up at least once each time!! Bottom line on this last show is that I felt that the talent was not as obvious. I felt that john, pete, glen and none of NC, really had the chance to shine like ususal, with the solo jams that normally go along with every song. I thought that pete, john and glen were going to bring some mega blow-my-mind rifts to the songs, which is why I was so looking forward to going. I ended up feeling that the whole thing was watered down. Didn't like Glen singing all the time, since his voice is not an improvement on Sean's, sara's or chris's. Thought sara's mic was turned down, kept seeing her sing, but not hearing it. Love john on bass, love led zeplin, the whole thing...just didn't like feeling the bass in my chair which also seemed to drown out some of the other sound. I usually leave NC concerts with enough euphoria to last several days, but left the MAS concert feeling like I wished glen hadn't played frount man. Didn't like his multiple instrument changes with no comparable talent to back up his efforts. I'm sure if I had never seen NC solo, I would have loved it. I'm going to the august NY city show, just to give it another try, cause I'm sure that I'll be happier now that i know what to expect. I basically felt the same about this show as I did seeing allison krause doing back up for Shania Twain....not quite right. anyway, that's it. Have a great day!!
