I know that Chris and Sean have released their own solo projects, but is Sara ever going to venture out on her own? I think she'd do a beautiful job on her own. I also love her contributions when the trio play together. :)

When I asked her about that, she said that she is working on a couple songs but would like them to be absoutely wornderful before they get published. She said that she would tey to work on one soon.

i would love to hear how Sara's solo album would turn out! i mean, through Sean and Chris's albums, I felt like i got to know them a little bit more....it would be cool to hear a solo project from sara too!

does anyone else think that her voice resembles alison krauss's in a lot of ways?

Yeah, she does kind of remind me of Alison - they both have this purity to their voices that not a lot of artists have. And if they do have it, they trill all their notes trying to sound divaish.

Can anyone point me to another great solo album by a fiddler? Besides Alison Krauss? I'm interested to hear what a solo fiddle album is like...

I actually saw Darol Anger preform with NC once....I guess I will have to pick up one of his solo albums and check it out! I was really impressed with him when I saw him in concert!

The soundtrack to the PBS special Liberty! is from a fiddler named Mark O'Connor. Authentic music from Revolutionary War era. My wife and I really like it. You can listen to a few cuts here.

A track I personally really like has about 10 minutes of four fiddlers - Eileen Ivers being one that I can remember, and I think Natalie McMaster is on there too....it's on the Chieftains Tears of Stone CD, and they really do a good job.

Hugh Marsh is really good on violin too..
