Is it just my imagination or is there a pretty direct reference within When You Come Back Down to either internet romance or a long-distance relationship? I obviously won't post the lyric incase Sugar Hill sue me or something but y'all know the bit I mean.
Sorry if this has been raised before my time by the way...
Hey!
Nobody has any objection to posting a portion of a lyric for discussion; the music publisher just doesn't want *all* of the lyrics published.
I think the song is fairly old; it was written by Tim O'Brian and Danny O'Keefe, so it may not refer to the 'net... but offhand, I'm not sure which portion of the lyrics you're referring to... feel free to mention it and maybe we can get some varying viewpoints on it (and maybe someone will know better than I when the song was actually written.)

The songwriter has the lyric posted on his website. :-) He's the guy who can legally do that. :-)
It's a beautiful song, isn't it?

hey guys!
this is my viewpoint on the song, or, if you will, what i think about when it is played:
i am one of the youth group leaders at my church - there are these two girls named jenn (17) and megan (14) who i love like little sisters - they come to me for advice and stuff. they have grown to be my favorites of the group.
anyway, when i hear WYCBD, i think about how i want to help them through life, and i hope they know i am always here for them - and i am scared that when they go away to school, i won't be there to help them through tough situations. i told them what i thought when they heard the song play, and we were all in tears!
the other part of the song i love and take to heart, and i hope i can post these lyrics without getting in trouble, is this part:
Your memory’s the sunshine every new day brings
I know the sky is calling, angel let me help you with your wings
i posted before how some of NC's songs helped me get through the tough times when i had a miscarriage - and when i hear this part of the song, i think about my little unborn baby in heaven. the lyrics fit perfect for me.
sorry for such a long post!

I know--I think that WYCBD is one of my favorite NC songs of all time, along with The Fox and The Lighthouse's Tale.
The lyrics are just so beautiful, and Chris's voice is absolutely perfect to sing them!
