Hey, is anyone going to Boston this October? It should be a great show. I've got Q seats...I would have had FF seats, but the page got messed up, and for some reason, I couldn't get them.
Anybody know if NC will come back at the back of the venue for a special performance, or because Howie Day is closing, they won't be able to? I'm actually kinda disappointed that he's closing. I wish he would open instead.
Anyway, anyone planning to tape this one?;)

I have a seat in row EE, apparently that is the second row, very excited.

I really wish they were closing as well, but since I have never even heard of Howie Day, I will be introduced to new music - not always a bad thing.

So the concert...wow...that's all that I have to say.

The only thing that made me mad were the rude drunks behind us. They were yelling and talking while NC was on...When Sara sang Sabra Girl, I could hardly hear her. Howie Day fans were part of the problem too. They were yelling to get NC off the stage and Howie on. I wish that the dumb people would just shut up and enjoy the show...

ANYWAY...It was great. When they walked onstage, they got a great roar and they immeadiately started singing, Take me out to the Ball Game. When they came to the part of, Root for the home team, they said, Root for the Red Sox. It was great.
They did premiere a new song, but I can't remember what it was called. It kind of sounded like Jacksmith, but it wasn't. It had the same feeling to it though.
BTW, does anyone have the setlist?
After NC's set was over, Chris came out in the lobby and signed his CD and took pictures with everyone. It ran into a little bit of Howie's set and a bunch of girls ran to get back to their seats, screaming, He's sooo hot!...lol. So asked Chris if he'd play by the bus and he said yeah, meet me there after Howie's set. It was my first time hearing them away from a huge group of people. Maybe only 15 or 20 people had stayed behind and they came out late, maybe 11:45 or so. First Chris came out with his friend Joe. Joe plays the mando too, so they played. Then Sean came out and played with them for a while. Finally Mark showed up and played the bass until about 12:30. It was too bad that Sara didn't come out. But we were just starting to walk out of the alley when we bumped into her coming towards us. She signed a few autographs then said that she had to go. All in all, it was great.
I'll post some pics too.

i am glad you got to hear them outside in a small group. we had a large group last concert i was at but we were all really quiet and good and cold so we were all mushed close... so it was great.
sorry aboutt he Howie fans and drunks though. makes me kinda glad they did not come near where i could see them this time i guess. :(

As a big Howie Day fan, I think the Nickel Creek fans here who have expressed some displeasure with the Howie fans should know that those you mentioned are not representative of Howie fans in general. I'm sorry you had to deal with drunk and or annoying and or rude members of the audience, they can wreck a show. Generally Howie fans are very open to new groups.

I must say I was amazed by Nickel Creek, they were pretty darn good. Especially that last song/jam. I can certainly say that I will be looking to obtain a taping of the set last night should one become available.

The reason why Howie closed the show is because he is a New Englander and is very well known on the college scene in the Northeast, and has begun to get some radio time. I hope you enjoyed being introduced to a new, original artist who is great live, as he mixes his songs on stage and uses loops very creatively.

Okay, I haven't had a chance to talk to my friend who went to the show last night (but she DID give me a couple of concert calls). Did any of the songs they play have an electric guitar in it? I'm still trying to figure out if it was the distortion of the two phones and the bad reception that made it sound like that or what. I know when I heard this side, the sound was kinda odd...like it had that weird digital tone to it. So yeah...might've been the phone. :)

But wow, sounds like an awesome show. I've seen 'em 3 times and still haven't been cool enough to hear 'em play after and by the bus or whatever...oh well. Only more of a reason to see 'em yet another time LOL

No, they didn't have any songs with electric guitar in it...Maybe it was just the cell phones.

As for Howie, I thought that he was pretty cool. The only thing that I wasn't very fond of was the looping. A little looping here and there in just the right spots is great. I love it. But he (in my opinion, no offence) totally overused it and ruined the entire mood.
And I'm sorry about the certain people who were being rude too. I wasn't labeling the entire Howie fanbase, it was just that a lot of people were yelling for NC to get off the stage.

Sean's hair is short, but it looks good. It is a different look for him. I don't think it looks as bad as I thought it would when I first saw the pictures, but seeing him (and meeting him..ehhhhh!!!!) up close it actually looks good. I perfer his longer, blonder surfer hair though.

I almost forgot, here are some pictures I have of Sean's new 'do from their concert in Atanta.
